xbox live connection

Postby Coolhand Texas » Mon, 04 Jan 2010 21:57

Unfortunately i have trouble with my connection. I have been trying to fix it the past couple of days, but i have not yet figured it out.

When i test my connection, it doesnt get past the first phase of testing and i have tried all suggestions. I havent had this problem before and do not what is wrong.

Anybody have any tips? If not then it looks like i might not be able to play for awhile

Well the first step on the test is checking your network, so it's something between the XBOX and your router. Is the internet working fine on a PC in your house, or did you switch any equipment recently?

Have you tried restarting your router? Just unplug it for about 30 seconds. See if that helps.

Have you tried replacing the cable or put the cable in another port of your router?
Does your PC have a wireless connection to the router? If so you can try if it works with a cable too and preferably the same port you use for your xbox.
If not you can try to use the same cable and port you use for your pc.

That way you can figure out if it's your xbox or your router/cables.

im not sure what you are talking about, i use a wireless connection.

This all so frustrating. I asked my brother to bring his xbox over and see if it could connect, and it couldnt as well. So i guess it has something to do with my wireless conection, but its weird because i get perfect signal in my room for my laptop

Maybe do a reset. Seems like the router is not being a DCHP server.

I think you should spank that bad router, how dare he not be a DHCP server.

I would check on your laptop if you not accidentally connecting to your neighbors network first.

Generally, I am against of using wireless on Xbox. Very much so. Wired is always best option. Try using a wire and see if you can connect. T?hen let me know.

my xbox decides to finally connect to xbox live and have no reason why it does it now?

I called xbox live and they said call your cable company. I called them and they said call xbox live?

I finally hung up when the guy had no idea what i was talking about and i went to turn on my 360 and it signed me on
