Yeah I know of Shane Carwin, he's huge and he's undefeated so far...it should be a good fight, but Brock will probably win (TKO like always  )

I can't wait for MACHIDA/RUA!!! I don't really care if it goes to the ground, I just hope Lyoto doesn't settle for a Decision victory...

If you need any help with UFC UNLEASHED, feel free to ask...there are a few things you really need to know how to do:

1) Stop guys from taking you down- as soon as somebody shoots for a takedown, you have to start violently twisting the right analog stick clockwise. I don't use my thumb to spin the stick in this situation (or when trying a submission), I use the palm of my hand to spin it, much faster...the only problem is that it gives me a blister, so I actually wear one glove when I play UFC

2) Fight in the clinch/escape the clinch: If you're using a Muay Thai fighter, the clinch can be devastating...what you want to do is get your opponent in a Muay Thai clinch, and mix up knees to his body and to his legs, so he doesn't know what to block (DON'T PUNCH OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CLINCH)....after a few strikes, flick the right analog stick in any direction, and you will do a MUAY THAI WHIP. Right after you do the 'whip', press a kick button, and you will knee your opponent in the face, WANDERLEI SILVA style :D Repeat over and over again...if you do this when your opponent is tired, there's a very good chance you're going to knock him out.

To escape the clinch, usually I just rapidly press all the strike buttons, you can also shoot for a takedown by grabbing your opponent's knee with the right analog stick, if you have good timing.

Anytime you're playing, press start and go to the 'Action List'...it gives you every single move that your player can do, from every position...for example, if you press pause when you are in full guard (bottom) on the ground, it will show you everything you can do in full guard. It also shows 'transitions', which is how you change positions when you're on the ground (YOU NEED TO KNOW THESE OR ELSE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE STUCK ON THE GROUND ONCE SOMEBODY TAKES YOU DOWN).

thanks-that helps - very compact explaining :tu
i play with chuck liddel -so this mui thay whip is a good way .
in moment -it is little hard by beginning to find the right timing to start the right thing in right moment -
there is alot of tactic in that game -and you need a little ""know how"" from real ufc fighting to know what is to do - that is great.

i have problems after a takedown to hold the upper position
i have also problems ,when i make a takedown ,to ko my opponent with ground and pound . so in moment i ´m prepaire for stand up fights ,but grappling takdowns ans submissions are hard at moment for me
i practice next days some styles.

BTW: i have a question
when i will create a fighter ,like andersen silva (hes not my favorite fighter but i will copy his style)?
with mui thai style and hard to bring to the ground? how ,and with which skill ,i can create a fighter with that style.

2
can i create a fighter with full attributes ?
or must i allways play the whole carriere?

Wow sorry Matthias I guess I didn't see your post...as for your 'how do I create an Anderson Silva style fighter?" question, first of all his fighting styles in the game are MUAY THAI for stand-up, and BJJ for grappling...you know this though, so pretty much all I can tell you is that when you are selecting your fighter, press 'X' (I think), and it will show all of the stats for your character (Standup stiking offense, grappling offense, clinch offense, etc etc.). From that point just copy Anderson Silva's stats if you want. 'Takedown defense' is the stat that you want to boost to make it hard to take you to the ground.

As for question #2 'can I create a fighter with full attributes', I honestly can't answer this, because I haven't made a complete fighter yet.
I usually use Frank Mir. He's well-rounded in UFC 2009- good punches, great kicks, great Muay Thai clinch striking, and able to perform submissions easily. He's not very fast or very powerful, I guess.

I ordered UFC 104 and I'm gonna watch it tomorrow :D

Of course, that's why I'm watching it! Machida is one of my favorite fighters. He's amazing....I would really love to see him finish Shogun with some Karate, like a flying kick to the head, or something  If he doesn't, this might happen again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIZgkjGBeYc

I'm also looking forward to Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher....Joe Daddy has some of the nastiest guillotine chokes ever, he seems to lock them in very quickly. I'm sure that's what he'll try to do tonight. Also, in Heavyweight, Cain Velasquez is looking to stay undefeated against Rothwell. I'm actually excited about all of the main card events, they're all really interesting fights. Can't wait :c

UFC 104 WAS GREAT

Joe Stevenson and Velasquez were dominant....Machida won by decision but Shogun got ABSOLUTELY SCREWED in the decision, by almost any criteria he probably should have won the fight...he landed some VICIOUS body/leg kicks. I mean, honestly, I reflexively looked away in horror at some of Shogun's kicks to Lyoto's ribs. Both my dad and I were absolutely shocked at the decision. I think there are two reasons Shogun wasn't given the victory, that maybe weighed much more heavily in the judge's eyes than ours...

1) He didn't 'convincingly beat the champion'. This is true. He landed few signigicant strikes to Machida's head. Although he was brutalizing his ribs/midsection, he never seemed to really 'rock' Machida, despite Machida's bloody lip and bruised ribs.

2) He rarely (if ever) really looked to decisively end the fight. Like I said, he was tiring Machida out with body/leg kicks, but he was never really able to put together many combos...Machida caught maybe 3-4 significant punches to the head, but they were all rather random punches from inside, followed by Machida backing up/recovering.

Anyways, it was a slightly dissapointing fight any way you look at it...I feel bad for Shogun because he arguably got screwed, but I can't say I'm pissed that Machida's still champion.

Velasquez was very impressive against Rothwell...Rothwell was never, not for 1 second, 'in' the fight. Velasquez SLAMMED him down at will, and Rothwell is not a small man...he basically slaughtered Rothwell- the stoppage by the ref was at a questionable time actually, but there is no question that Rothwell was going to lose/get severely hurt. He was so dazed at one point that he literally crawled from the center of the ring to the fence, so he could try to stand up using the fence for balance  That's where the fight ended by TKO.

Stevenson annihilated Spencer Fisher's face with brutal elbows from the top, he was cut badly and bleeding all over the place even before that onslaught of elbows that stopped the match. Fisher was in the 'crucifix' position on the bottom, he was completely unable to defend his face because his arms were both pinned down...it was nasty.

Yoshida got taken out very quickly by Anthony Johnson, it wasn't much of a fight.

Also, the Machida/Rua match was for the L. Heavyweight championship, so it was FIVE rounds. Rua won 3 rounds I thought, maybe 4.

Anyways 104 was awesome...can't wait for 105, it's going to be FREE on Spike TV-

RANDY 'THE NATURAL' COUTURE VS. BRANDON 'THE TRUTH' VERA

edit: UPDATE- I've read reports that Dana White is giving Shogun another shot at Lyoto very soon...I really hope so. He deserves it..

That's cool man, I had UFC 104 saved on my DVR but I think I accidentally deleted it when I was drunk a few nights ago, because it's gone :?

Lots of good fights, I know you don't really like watching groundfighting- I don't think many of the fights in UFC 104 ever stayed on the ground for more than a minute or so.

I also can't wait for UFC 106...two of my least favorite fighters- Brock Lesnar and Tito Ortiz (I HATE TITO ORTIZ)- are fighting, and I hope to see them both knocked out!!! Matthias I have literally had dreams about Brock Lesnar getting KO'd by somebody !!! I want it soooo bad. Also, Forrest Griffin is trying to avoid 3 losses in a row...I don't know how he will deal with 3 losses in a row, it could be very bad for him.

i watched it.
you say right jon- UFC 104 was a great event.
started with the first fight KO from anthony johnson after 20 seconds. great start.
than the fight with daddy joe stevenson was great. a awesome armtrap ,followed from ellbowpunches to the face till KO ..no chance for spencer fisher.
also the tibau-neer fight was great-neer got slamed down permanently from tibau in a unbelieveble way. i only saw this from matt hughes earlier. great fight.

i also was impressed from velasquez .how he TKO BEN ROTHWELL in second round was sensationell..

than the fight machida -shogun .it must give a refight.
my opinion is ,that rua won this 5 round championshipfight.
in a normal fight!!
BUT
in a championship fight
he win not clear enough as challenger about the champion machida .

so the result is okay -but very close and lucky for machida.
i was little dissapointed from machida. but rua was a strong strong fighter this evening.his low kicks was deadly for machida that night.

i can´t wait for ufc 105 and 106
the tito ortiz fight will be great.
i hate him too coz he can dozle mozle jenna jameson

jon,in your dream ,who have tko brock lesnar ??
i´m sure you kick his ass ,right ??
seriously, what you think who will tko brock lesnar at moment ? not submisson !!
BTW: coolhand, who is reggie warren jr?
