Didn't see it...UFC fights are expensive :(

I only cared about the main card fights, anyways...Cro Cop lost  Submission by strikes, in the 3rd round. I'm pretty dissapointed about that one, Cro Cop is one of my favorite fighters.

Franklin got taken out by Belfort by a 1st round KO. Really surprising, to me.

I don't really care about any of the other fights

sadly that crocop loose his fight.he

that belford win about rich franklin is a surprise, but not a big surprise. belford is fast like a gepard . now its hard for rich by ufc after his defeats about silva and belfort

some results.

tysen griffin vs herman franca tko round 2

josh koschek vs frankk trigg tko R1

paul dalay -martin kampmann TKO R1

not meaning to go way off thread here guys, but talking of fighting sports,
did any of you watch the Floyd Mayweather v Juan Manuel Marquez boxing fight earlier this morning?
Mayweather has to be the best defensive fighter this sport has ever seen. Coming off of a two year layoff, he still looks as sharp as ever. Marquez who is a five-time world champion, was totally outclassed.
Look out for the proposed fight later this year between Mayweather and filipino superstar-Manny Pacquiao. It's gonna be an absolute classic!

@ GOA,

yeah i know of Valuev. He is the tallest heavyweight champ in history. He stands just over 7 feet tall. A real giant of a man! Skills wise he is a little slow and very awkward, but at least he gets the job done. His next fight will be against a former cruiserweight champ from England- David Haye. I hope Valuev can lay a beating on that cocky brit.

those german boxers you mention were all very good fighters. although the cruiser champ- Michalczewski did fight out of germany, he is of polish origin. You also mention rocky graciano? you must mean Graciano Rocchigiani? a good counter-puncher and good boxer. he actually beat one of our fighters- Thulani Malinga, in one of his title defences.

Roy Jones was an awesome fighter in his prime. He had it all- punch, movement, defense, blinding hand speed-- basically the whole package. At his absolute best- from the mid-90's up to 2003, he was untouchable. The only midleweight champ in history to be able to capture at least a portion of the heavyweight title.

You mention Mike Tyson: In my opinion a good fighter with very good speed for a heavyweight and the hardest punching heavyweight ever, BUT, lacking in other areas like punch resistance, being able to tough it out with opponents who weren't scared of him and who actually fought back. So yeah Iron Mike deserves his place as one of the most ferocious fighters ever, but I would never rank him with the likes of Ali, Louis, Marciano and Holmes.

Francois Botha was a decent heavyweight from my country, but we have had better in my opinion. I don't know if you are familiar with our other heavyweight champs like Gerrie Coetzee and Corrie Sanders. Both of those but especially Coetzee- was of high quality.
In the other lighter weight divisions, SA has produced many great champs. My favourite was Brian Mitchell. He was the champ at 130 pounds for many years and retired without having lost the title. Great, great fighter.

I see you are an expert . nice
valujev is overrated (my opinion). mean he is big ,but thats all. he is to slow and for his size his punch is ridicolous. hes not a real champ in my eyes .

sure i meant rocky rochigiani.  that was my fault .very good my friend that you help me out.
its allways positive to talk with you.

roy jones junior was the best boxer ever .pound for pound
that was not only part from his nickname .
jones is a awesome boxer . i saw alot of fights from him.very atlethic and strong power

tyson was a street fighter ,a killer on short distance. mean ali and holmes are bigger legends, but in his best time i think tyson will beat ali and holmes .
for sure that will be a interestig fight. sadly we never can see this fight

about the south africa boxers i know only corrie sanders .coetzie and mitchel i don´t know.
i can little remember that botha used doping in his fights?was there not a disqualifikation about a german boxer ? was that about axel schulz?
however ,i like botha as fighter . he goes in offense and search for the fight. (not like others where box only in defense)

yeah I thought so because rocky graciano was an italian-american middleweight from back in the 40's and 50's.

yeah we agree that he was awesome, but the greatest ever? i'm not sure about that. have a look at footage of a guy by the name of Sugar Ray Robinson. this guy was also unbelievable.

believe me, GOA, tyson wouldn't even be able to shine the shoes of those legends you mention  When he beat Holmes in '88, Holmes was near the age of 40. well past his prime years.
no way on god's green earth does he even come close to those legends.

that's right. that doping by botha was in the schulz fight. botha was later stripped of the title.
i don't know if you are aware, but Botha has also had a career in kickboxing. he has had wins over Jerome Le Banner and Peter Aerts.

Well you can say whatever you want about Iron Mike, I love the guy, he's gotta be the most entertaining to watch boxer of all time, his style was just amazing, to me. Like you said he was incredibly fast and powerful, and I've really just never seen anybody bring such rage to the ring. He really wanted to kill people, rip their hearts out, stomp on their children's testicles...cuz that's how he feels, waking up every morning  I dunno if you ever heard him actually say that quote about stomping childrens testicles, but it's an absolute classic. He says it so matter of factly, like it's no big deal...

i agree sugar ray robinson is also a legend and one of the best boxer ever.
its too difficult for me to compare wher from both is the better one.
they boxed in same wheightclass?

thats also very difficult for me to say who will win in a fight tyson-ali .
but as more i think about this fight,i must say :i think i agree with your opinion that ali beat tyson.
about the tyson holmes fight i will vote forward for tyson

i know jerome le banner and peter aerts from K1 .
jerome le banner is my favorite fighter .he and badr hari .

le banner is a fighter where i will see coz he goes out and he will fight witout scaring he loose with ko or not.
mostly his fights end with :
1 way -opponent goes ko
2 way- he goes ko
his fights are always spectacular .

i believe you when you say botha beats jerome and peter aerts
but when you ask me before ,without the info from you . my vote will be:
le banner and aerts will kill botha in a fight.

a question :what kind of fight it was? boxing ? k1? MMA? FREE FIGHT(NO RULES) ?

@ jayl0ve,
i really believe that if cus d'amato had lived a few years longer, we would have seen a more complete version of Tyson in the ring. D'Amato, at that time, was the only person Tyson had real respect and love for.
Probably he would've made Mike into a better inside fighter, imo a real weakness of tyson's. Mike always did the majority of his damage when given some room to launch those bombs, but never as comfortable on the inside.

@GOA,
it was in K-1 competition where Botha recorded those two wins. i cant say more than that-- i know next to nothing regarding K1/Kickboxing & MMA

regarding Ray Robinson,
he boxed mainly in the welterweight/middleweight divisions.
when you hear the phrase in boxing "he could do it all" it automatically is a reference to this guy. whereas Roy Jones was his equal in skill, Robinson had the edge in other areas. he could punch harder, could take a punch as well as any fighter in the history of this sport(he was only stopped once in his career and that was mainly because of heat exhaustion after 14 rounds of a light-heavy fight in which he was winning by a country mile), and he showed tremendous determination and guts and a never say die attitude in all his fights.

watch from about 1:45 of the video below, for some indication of what this guy could do.

i searched on the german k1 side.
you say true :the botha fights was in k1 .
but both victorys was very lucky for botha.(what i had read now)
about le banner he win coz he must give up before the extra round start. coz his ellbow was hurt from the earlier fight ( by K1 you must win 3 fights at 1 evening to got the tournament champion ) thats really hard ,3 fights straight behind .

and by aerts it was the same. aerts must give up in first round coz his leg was hurt from the fight before .
this info i got from internet now- i didn´t saw the fights. so i can not say to 100 %its true or not

however- victory is victory .and to read in your vita that you beat this 2 guys (AERTS-LE BANNER ) is great
