Yes, but I think that this is for you to see the time on the forum correctly. I do not think that it is for others to see your time zone.

okay im a little confused at the moment----is there a difference between CET time zone and CEST time zone? it is quite difficult to keep up with european time zones since i do not live in europe....from what i have heard CEST is 1 hour ahead of CET? someone help me!!!!!

In the summer period the CET is sometimes called CEST (Central Europe Summer Time). Its when there is 1 hour added to the clock. It will not matter for you though as USA has a summer time as well. So the time difference between you and your European opponent will not change.

Yeah, just as addition to my post: People from USA will not be entirely unaffected by CEST. Since a year or 2 the date on which Europe switches to summer time is a different date then when USA switches. So on the beginning and end of the summer time there are 2 weeks (could be even more) where Europe and USA are separated by 1 hour extra.

That will be made clear on the forum though.

Why don't you create a match scheduling tool that compensates for time differences. Then someone could propose a match and put in the time in their zone and it would automatically translate it to the challengers time zone when they see it. This would also allow players to update the results and you to track scheduled and completed matches better.

I would not say it is a bad idea, but ITST has been able to operate without the tool, just know the CET difference (summer time and fall time) is good enough.

I am liking your idea though.

Along with this new tool we should also have the system do coin tosses for our scheduled matches, this way we don't even have to be there for the actual match, it will be all automated. Will save us all a ton of time, all that will be left to do is write a match report and that can be generated as well, it could be pulled from pre-approved reports database. How cool is that ah?

Love the sarcasm, but there is always room for improvment. A scheduling system would eliminate the need to parse through a bunch of post to see who is and is not secheduling and confirming matches. You could go to one page and see all proposed, confirmed and played matches for any particular tournament. Not to mention, making it easier on the players for scheduling. Biggest concern should be playing, not figuring out what time zone your opponent is in. I know people that have trouble with the 4 time zones in the US, let alone the whole world. Not saying get on it straight away, but certainly something to think about. Might be as simple as adding a couple of fields to the existing match database and some edit controls.
