Madcatz controller

Can anyone help me to fix my madcatz controller... It has a USB (not USB cable) when I insert the USB into ps3 and install AA batteries in the controller and turn it on then it's light keeps blinking but it won't connect to ps3.. The USB light also keeps blinking
