Casey Anthony Trial

Firstly i dont wish to offend by bringing this up on the forum but I hadn't heard anything about this until I saw it trending on twitter and turned on Fox (yes I know!) news.

I haven't followed it so I don't know the background but it felt like watching trial by telecast. Everyone including the anchors basically saying yes she killed her child but got off on a technicality. Plus everyone on twitter is going mad about it.

Is this an illustration of the general news media in America, just the whole thing was being played out like some kind of soap opera.

Very sad when a child has still lost their life and nobody has been brought to justice.

Btw is double jeopardy still in place in the states.[/list]

They didn't have enough facts or evidence to find her guilty, and personally I don't think she did it

nobody should be offended. i don't believe they had enough solid evidence, it was all circumstantial. don't take my word for it though. although i live in FL, i was barely following it. it really is just another case a pretty white lady doing something incredibly irrational, sensationalized by the news for their cycle.
more importantly, exxon mobil spilled some more oil because you know, that's ok.

i wonder if that was being talked about on FAUX NEWS...

Did she not admit though that she knew her baby was dead but carried on for 30 days covering it up?

Anyway it was just the coverage that surprised me, it was just very very sensationalist, the hosts, the "experts" the reactions and so on and I wasn't really used to it, not to say we dont have biased news coverage in the UK.

Just left a sour taste that the crime itself sort of got sidelined while everyone is angling for the spotlight especially the defence lawyers. Also I know they didn't have a press conference but how can the media get the chance to start disecting a jury afterwards, doesnt it undermine the whole process, especially if people subsequently start saying that maybe she did do it.

I was following the case, and I have to say while the outcome did shock me, I can see how the jury decided.

the defense attorney did a great job of creating just enough reasonable doubt for the jury to take in to get her free, but like I said, very shocked at the outcome.

What confuses me is that if someone killed your baby, why wouldn't you tell anyone or report it? That kinda showed that she might have killed her own child. :(

seriously this has to be the joke of the century. are you kidding me you clearly have not been following this since 2008 and you do not watch hln nor do you know about the war on women and children in america. Nancy grace and the rest of the world was all over and are still all over this story. this crazy tot mom is guilty. there is no way in hell you go get a tattoo of the beautiful life on you right shoulder blade, go out clubbing entering hot body contest and still push up bras from target while your daughter supposedly drowned in the pool which you finally said after three years of lies. when it is proven that she did not drown in the pool there was evidence of duck-tape she had access to which was found on her daughters mouth and nose well skull. traces of Chloroform in her car and around the crime scene of where her daughter remains were located. the place being where she buried her child hood animals in a ritualistic way. lying on her entire family accusing them of sexual molestation. she is just well to much and much talked about all over america. if u could only see all the news coverage on her it is such a joke. i now actually feel bad for scott petterson for not getting better representation and she is just as guilty.
