But isn't tennis boring, too?

Ok, there is a winner (point) nearly every second, but one match takes longer than soccer matches (mostly) and about 80 % of the rallies are very similar - at least to me.

What are you talking about! Curling is really hard and requires a lot of skills, if you ever play it, you would know...

you are so wrong. Yeah, tennis has it's share of boring matches. But, for he most part, the much bigger part, it is fun to watch! You have to look beyond the rallies and simple "i hit to you, you hit back to me". Try and look for strategies, weaknesses, better players exploiting weakness. Construction of points, mental pressure. Tennis is one of the deepest "game play wise" sports out there. Each player is absolutely unique and has different things to offer, just have to look for it

What about cycling.

Goes on for hours without anything happening, and ends in a mass-sprint anyway. They could just put the cyclists on some exercise-bike for a couple of hours and then have a race over a mile or so. Then the traffic doesn't get screwed up...

Or marathon running, also very boring to watch.

Oh, and darts of course. Good fun to play, boring to watch.

And what about bowls? Don't understand why BBC sometimes broadcast it... just as boring as curling.

Well, then a bit on-topic for the hell of it:
Can't really choose between all of them. Think you can't say there is one. You might pick a most talented player for a certain position though. But even then, it's a team sport (ok, some players seem to forget that...), one might be very talented in some way, but if the player in that position requires some other abilities to function better in the team it's useless.

If I had to choose I'd probably go for Messi though. Ronaldo was absolutely terrific last year, and has huge talent, but I'd put Messi slightly above him.

Sorry but curling is not boring to watch. First you need to understand the rules of the sport so that you actually understand what is going on, then feel free to comment. The game is a very strong technique sport and so doesn't have some of the adrenaline thrills of other sports, but it is very satisfying to watch and pretty amazing when you see the skip throw an amazing clear on the last stone of an end. I think most tennis fans would actually enjoy watching curling if they let themselves.

imo baseball is way more boring than any sport i have ever watched in my life, you are really lucky if you see a homerun, the game is really slow not like football that both teams are attacking all the time the oponents' net.

Have any of you guys watched cricket? or golf? They are both highly boring. Golf is good when you go out with mates for a hit, but it is very boring to watch. I think

In my opinion the most boring is weight-lifting

And there´s one sport that I love watching on TV: Biathlon.

Ans also TRIATHLON is a great sport and really funny to practice, actually I´m a triathlete here in Mallorca ( not professional of course, just races here in my island)

Man me i'm just mad about Biathlon...The perfect mix between physical skills and mental ones...I watch it since the very beginning of Raphael Poiré's career...Big battles between him,and guys like sven fischer (the guy with no gloves!!!),and Ole einar BjornDalen (the legend!!!he also won in...man!how do you say?...biath without shooting...only skiing...)!!!!Now it's the Russian (women & men!) who took the lead!!!

Baseball is easily the most boring sport to watch, IMO (at least out of all sports that I've seen personally). Any sport where you can be 45 years old, overweight, with a chewing tobacco habit is actually not a sport. I've known a lot of baseball players and a few kids from my high school went on to play minor-league ball- and they were all morons

Sounds a bit like darts. You can be as old as you like, very very overweight and you need to be an alcoholic...
And there whatever your opponent does doesn't have any influence on your own game. Maybe just the mental aspect...

Biathlon is good fun to watch.
Just the skiing is named cross-country skiing.

I like a bit of curling from time to time (i like the captain of the women swedish team BTW hehe)as much as i like some snooker matches to chill.
I agree darts is hell on TV. weight lifting also but i can't stand horse competition on TV....greeerrrr.
@ Moralspain and matheja1664 : Biathlon is the best mates. I'm kind of sad Raphael piree left though, i really enjoyed the torrific duel they had.
