of course jon i saw UFC 126 .
at sunday morning ,it was one of the first things i had done lol
this front kick was great-but i was little dissapointed to see the fight was over after the first kick in the complete bout.
the first minute both doesn´t hit or kick .they just walking arround to find a starting.
mean SILVA is a counterpuncher,so i didn´t expect he starts fighting, but belfort comes little to defensive in the fight.i expected more aggressiveness from him.
and than boooom one kick and vitor goes ko . wow

really really sad that the fight ends so early ,i liked to see more from vitor belfort
the kick was great from silva but i hoped belfort kicked this SILVA out of the octagon
somehow i don´t like SILVA -remember the fight against damien maya.ridicolous behavior.
in his last fight against chael sonnen he won very lucky in round 5 with submisson ,after he got dominated 4 rounds from sonnen .
i allways thought hes overrated
now he is the most succesfull fighter in UFC HISTORY .
think he have now 8 title defends !!.
respect

bloufo@
indeed its true ,vitor belfort had the fastest hands in complete MMA ,
he can hit 50-60 punches in 5 seconds
thats true and no joke !!
search in internet for some vitor belfort fights .
he is a great fighter . real great fights .
his first fight by UFC against 140 kg guy FERROSA was legendary (that time no rules and weightclasses exist by UFC ) think it was 1997
also its true that steven segal teach anderson silva some techniques ,but not this front kick who ko ´d belfort .
think about steven segal is not a simple actor , he is a true material arts master in aikido ,taekwondo ,and a few different material arts stiles .
honestly i also was surprised to see him at the octagon and earning from SILVA the sensei respect move .

it would really interrest me which moves ,and how he teach this moves to anderson silva .???
mean steven segal is 60 years now.
who knows ,maybe it was just a puplicity gag.
but its possible he teach silva some moves.
steven segal is a black belt and material arts master . not like jean claude van damme where is just an actor with little karate experience

Actually Steven Seagal DID really teach A. Silva that front kick!! I watched an interview post-fight where he is literally asked 'Where did Anderson Silva learn that front kick??', and he responds "I taught him", so there you go... (ok wow I'm dumb, bloufo just posted that link)

@bloufo: I was just as shocked as you were while watching UFC 126...during Silva's 'walkout' I was like...'IS THAT STEVEN F***KING SEAGAL!???'.

Apparently the guy (seagal) is the first American to recieve an Aikido black belt in Japan

Basically, bloufo, Silva's the #1 fighter walking the planet, in any discipline or sport. He's one of those rare athletes that lives up to the hype and is actually just as good if not better than people say he is

MATTHIAS...I kind of agree with you about Silva's style and behavior, you know I"ve said in the past that I am sick of his 'clowning' people. This fight though I don't feel like he was disrespecting Vitor, in fact I think he was respecting him too much- he respected Vitor's striking so much that he didn't do anything for 3 minutes out of fear of getting KO'd. You can't argue with his methods though if they work in this devastating fashion...he basically lulled Belfort to sleep and then *BOOM!!*, hits him with maybe the #1 most brutal headkick KO of all time (YES, I AM GOING THERE, THAT KO WAS THAT GOOD IMO). I can take 3 minutes of relative non-action if the result is a gruesome KO like that.

Anderson Silva is a sniper!! That front kick was just jaw dropping (literally), I can't really express how impressed I was by that....

Seagal is the real deal. In the vid below it looks like he's teaching Anderson how to kill an opponent.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaVDFW_o1cA&feature=fvst

BTW, that kick that Seagal's teaching him at about the 5 min mark in the vid, that's the kick that took out that Belfort dude, right?

Yeah basically except they seem to be doing it at stomach level but whatever... What's so crazy about it is it was a front kick to the head. That's a kick that 99% of the time is to the gut, like Joe Rogan said right after the KO, I don't think anybody in any combat sport has ever knocked somebody out with a front kick to the head.

bloufo, you was true ,it looks steven segal trained silva this front kick

http://www.mmaconvert.com/2011/02/06/st ... t-ufc-126/

sadly a few of your links didn´t work in germany .
the side say :this content isn´t available in your country ,coz license problems and music rights of sony .

thats real often in last time on youtube.

jon , you are true , anderson was carefullybefore vitors fast hand attacks.it was a pefrect fight for a counterpuncher .
more and more i give anderson silva respect ,but i can´t forget that easily his boring fights from before. not only the clowning style .at all the fights was mostly boring .
his victory against vitor belfort changed alot in my mind .
he proofed that he is a true fighter

BTW: joe rogan isn´t true - i can remember a fight in K1 where also someone got KO with a frontkick . i think it was glaube feitosa ,or remy bonjasky in 2005 or 2006 where also do it.. but at all its not so important.it was a great KO from anderson silva

I figured that wasn't true about the front kick....but, at the very least, that is a very rare technique to see a fighter use, and very impressive. His legs must be made of rubber or something because to have that much foot speed, power, and penetration with a front kick THAT high is just amazing.

I don't think anybody can beat Anderson Silva right now EXCEPT perhaps Georges St. Pierre or...maybe Cain Velasquez or Brock Lesnar

no doubt about ,this kick was extraordinary classy from SILVA :
a INCREDIBLE kick
i agree with you , i also can see at moment nobody where beat anderson silva in his weightclass .
of course brock would be nice ,like in the good old days ,with no rules and no weightclasses
i heared in this interview with steven segal that UFC is planed ,that GSP is fighting anderson silva next .

this would be interresting, but for GSP it is a bad idear,i think .he have to make much weight to fight anderson in middleweight divison.
its a risk for GSP. what you think about a fight anderson silva vs. GSP ??

next week FEDOR is fighting in STRIKEFORCE against bigfoot silva -also a very interresting bout .

i would like to see fighting FEDOR against OVERREEM .

Excuse some of these questions, but I'm kinda new to the UFC/MMA fight scene.

So I was just thinking, do they have rules as to the length of toenails? or at least if they're hygienically "clean" enough before combat?

Apparently some of these weirdos even go as far as painting their toenails. :?
I guess because:

a) Makes the toes more aerodynamic = faster kicks.

or

b) Some fighters are GAY?!?! omgomg

I am sure that deep down they must have some kind of rule about toenail or fingernail lengths.

I have wondered about the toenail polish too...my friend Jeff had the most interesting theory (and one I believe is probably the real reason): to provide some kind of distraction. i.e, guy looks down at your toes and sees they are bright pink, is stunned beyond belief, and gets swiftly kicked in the head. I dunno.

NO, I did not see that fight...WOW haha Fedor looks TERRIBLE. That is a serious ass-beating! That's only right after the fight, too, he probably looked 100x worse the next day. Wow.

Anyways yeah I can't for UFC 128 tonight....Shogun vs Bones Jones is gonna be crazy, there's gonna be elbows flying all over the place! Haha!

WOW...apparently Jon Jones JUST stopped some robber who was breaking into somebody's car!

edit: Don't want to ruin it for you Matthias, so I won't say who wins, but it was a very impressive performance by somebody in UFC 128 8) Overall a very good fight night IMO, although no submissions by anybody- a pretty rare occurrence I think.

i saw UFC 128 .
the main event was indeed incredible ,
jones is the future ,like joe rogan said.
cro cop´s lose against schaub .was this the end for him in UFC ?
BRENDAN SCHAUB really surprised me . the knockout of the night was deserved.

no submissions  but jim miller was a few times very close to submitt his opponent.
all in all a nice event and very long this time ,nearly 3 hours from beginning to the end (without preliminary fights)

Sadly, this was my very first thought when he got knocked out...I thought "man Cro Cop is probably done". This is two vicious KO's in a row.

Jones was incredible!!!!!! He's amazing, seriously! I wanted Shogun to win but damn Jon Jones deserved it. He hit Shogun from every possible angle, he demolished his whole body...he hit Shogun with some insane elbows man, I really was going "OOHHH!!!!!" every time he connected with one. He never let Shogun rest, he just totally manhandled Shogun

Did you think Shogun looked out of shape?? Both me and my father thought he looked chubbier than he has in the past.
