I don't know either, I mean it's the same with calling the World Series champsions "Baseball World Champions".

It's kind of stupid, but to be completely honest, with the NBA, it's true. The NBA team that wins the NBA Finals is definitely the best team in the world. I seriously mean no offense to you or anybody else, but the USA is so far ahead of the rest of the world in professional basketball that it's not even close. Of course there are plenty of great players that originated from foreign countries, but where are they coming to play?? Here.

I like how luol deng says he's recognised everywhere in the usa, but if he want to just chill out, he comes home and lives a normal life and can walk through London in the middle of the day and barely anyone will recognise him

the best league in the world is the NBA, no doubt, mainly because it's where players can earn more money, and it's also the tougher cause teams play many more macthes than in Europe, that being said i still don't understand the "World" thing, i guess it's a manner of superiority
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

It's not only because players "earn" big money...it is also because there are parties willing to "pay" that money ;)

The "World" thing is like this: NBA consists of players from all over the world. Every basketball player ultimately wants to play in NBA, and if you are good enough - they will invite you...they will down right stalk you. So you can argue, that wining NBA title, against the best teams assembled from best players from all over the world, really makes that team "worlds best". This team is not National, rather International. Location of the event at this point is irrelevant.

NBA is really one of the kind in this regard. The winner is, BY FAR! the best team in the World.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
