Hahaha...well, it's not like I know nothing about the game of soccer. I played competitive soccer in a league from the age of 4 to 16, was never that good, but I played. It's just that the European leagues don't get any attention at all, here. I love watching the Mexican league games that they play here sometimes, the commentators are always soooooooooooooooo intense

Speaking of intensity in sports,
soccer is big in SA as well(even though the natives are useless at it  ) but the passion and rivalry you get when it comes to rugby is waaay intense in this side of the world. I'll be at Loftus stadium this weekend when the Bulls take on the Chiefs in the Super 14 final. That atmosphere will be phenomenal!

You should watch this final man.(8:45 pm CET) I think it´s 11:45 am in California (not sure).
You´ll see Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi, they are considered 2 of the best players in the world:

Mexican soccer?

Btw, is women's soccer that popular in the U.S.? If I hear anything about American soccer, it's always about women's... Your national team is quite good for example.

Are Mexican leagues not good? I really have no idea. They look good to me.

I need to make something clear...when I say something like "soccer isn't popular here in the US", I strictly mean that nobody WATCHES high-level soccer on TV. EVERY kid in America plays soccer growing up (ok, not every, but a LOT), everybody here is familiar with the game itself, it's just not watched on TV.

To answer your question bergkamp, no women's soccer isn't really that popular. I'd guess that slightly more girls/women play soccer, but not much.
