I am TOTALLY the wrong person to ask since I don't watch TV at all except for tennis, 'Cops', 'Saved By The Bell', 'That 70's Show' and 'The Twilight Zone'. As far as 'new' shows are concerned, I really like 'Flight of the Conchords'. Funniest show I've seen in a long time. Other than that, I am completely clueless; I hate TV

Ok yeah , I tried to watch lost but couldn't really get into it

Little Britain i downloaded and watched all of them.

But not really looking for comedies.

Also watched the Sopranos but that took me about 1 1/2 season to get into it a bit.

BTW, The Wire actually isn't on television anymore (ended this year), however all five seasons (60 episodes) are available on disc.

Promo :) ...

Despite never seeing commercial success or winning any major television awards, The Wire has frequently been described by critics as one of the greatest television series of all time. The show is recognized for its realistic portrayal of urban life, artistic ambitions, and uncommonly deep exploration of sociopolitical themes.

24 is really hot in the US I think. I really enjoy watching that show but that's not the only reason I'm saying that. With our writer's strike here this past year I hear a lot of people really looking forward to the start of the new season in about a month.

It's a very intense show, a typical action show/movie story line although it has a good balance of interesting twists, if you like that sort of thing. If you haven't watched any of the shows yet you have 6 seasons or about 100 hours of thrilling stuff to catch up on. I just started watching last season, but I've watched the first 3 seasons on DVD now and it's pretty fun.

The first season of 24 was awesome - it was based on everything being in real time and it was different from most other shows. Now they've gradually gotten away from what the show was supposed to be and it's not quite as good.

It's still a good show, but I wouldn't pay to see any seasons except maybe the first two.

From what I've heard - Californication is great, starring David Duchovny aka Mulder...
