Creating a game...

Postby Tamthewasp » Sat, 10 Nov 2012 21:10

This maybe daft because there is already TE but It's an amatuer game made by people. An it seems to be great and as ITST can mod it to our standards this maybe mute.

Why have'nt The bhoys at ITST tried to make a tennis game for P.C.?
Cost? Capability of creating from scratch? It's defo not knowledge.

I'm sure if we all pulled together we could create the greatest independent Tennis game on the market.
An ITST designed, produced game intellectual properties would only enhance this site??

You mean just multiplayer? I dunno. I'm a bit busy to be creating games in my free time, when I should really be doing Uni work. But it's a possibility in the summer. :P

I'm sure that people could help. A game specifically desinged for us here at itst. I thibk there is a few people on here who could write the code. I dont know i'm just throwing ideas around. The potential is limitless.

Ok, Ill do it during my lunch break. Oh wait, i was already gonna have sex with your Queen (dont judge my preferences  ) in that time period. What to do, what to do...

Seriously though, that is lots of work. A very high degree of effort is required. Coding is not even the most work. Design, animations and a lot more things. And for what? I think it would be hard to do better gameplay wise then TE11. And developing for the consoles is way too expensive to begin with.

Then don't develop for consoles, to start with. :P

But yeah, it does take an awful lot of work. I mean, for our group project this year (with 10 people) we are getting 2 semesters to develop and polish a prototype. I.e 2 or so levels. Granted, tennis doesn't have any unique levels, but it would still take just as long to get a basic concept bashed out.

Sorry man, corpses do not float my boat.

When are you guys going to stop mashing random letters on your keyboard and start liberating Scotland from the occupying forces?

2014. It'll be a monumental effort conving the people that we would be be better of out with the union. Currently it's around 75% to stay in. Really hope people will see the benefits to vote yes.

Random keyboard bashing is fun.

25%. In the USA that is enough percentage of the votes to be named president.

I dont see much room for another tennis game on the PC though. Hence i mentioned consoles. I hope the next generation consoles give more options to independent developers to develop games for them. Sort of like for mobil devices at the moment.
