Looks like the spring is done. Do you have access to a shop with spare parts? Might save you some money. But I wouldn't waste my money on some third party pads, they're cheaper for a reason and it 's not just the missing Sony logo.

I've been mistreating my PS3 pad for a couple years now and it's still fine. The right stick looks a slightly bit off / unaligned but no problems in games. Never had problems with PS2 pads either and the original PSX pads without the anaglo sticks are ecxeptionally durable imo (International Track & Field hardcore player).

By far the worst controller on later consoles was the Nintendo 64 one. Extremely top-heavy, especially with a memory card, way too big and the flimsy analog stick would break after a couple of weeks.

Haven't played for a while with my Ps3 controller and I just noticed that my left analogue rubber is melting, I mean it has some sort of sticky liquid layer that is coming out on it's surface.. Have anyone experienced it, Anyway to stop this?

Sorry I just noticed how old the thread was - I joked about the OP.

On your matter, what you noticed is normal it has happened to all my ps3 controllers as well.I think it's some kind of grease to allow the analog stick to rotate easily.Maybe it has to do with the climate as well, because this liquid spills when it's summer and the weather is very hot here in Greece. Is it hot where you stay Ali?

It's hot outside during may-sept.. But my house is cool inside.. I think it starts when I don't touch the controller for days, maybe because of moisture
