Spanish federation to sue French TV for Nadal skit
AP - Wednesday, February 8, 2012

MADRID (AP)—The Spanish tennis federation says it plans to sue Canal Plus France for using its logo in a video that poked fun at Rafael Nadal.

In the video skit on Les Guignols (The Puppets) satirical program, a life-size cartoon figure of Nadal is shown urinating into a gas tank before racing off and being pulled over by traffic police for speeding.

A message of “Spanish athletes. They don’t win by chance” flashes across the screen, surrounded by the logos of the tennis federation and other Spanish sports groups.

The video came hours after the Court of Arbitration for Sport issued a two-year ban against Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador for doping.

lame if you ask me, all countries could start making videos about other countries athletes.

Ex: Jeannie Longo, best french racing cyclist ever and 13 times world champion.
An enquiry has been opened by a court in the southeastern city of Grenoble into claims that the husband and coach of Jeannie Longo purchased the banned blood booster EPO (erythropoietin).
Last week it was revealed Longo had allegedly infringed strict anti-doping rules concerning athletes’ whereabouts three times during the past 18 months. Longo was warned three times by France’s National Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) for failing to inform officials of her exact whereabouts ahead of random tests, and informed she could be banned for between three months and two years.

Nadal has never tested positive, so i don't get that shit, i swear i would be the first to be mad at him and i wold understand that video if there was some kind of evidence or something, and the same for the football players.

Not surprised though, in Spain we're used to this accusations coming from our neighbors

Very important info: I have many french friends over here, so don't take this as an attack against you or your country (actually it's one of my favorite countries to visit, my mum and grandma speak french, etcl...), i just disagree with the way the french media always work in regard to spanish sportsmen.

 they're out of control, no comments, i know it's a comedy show and they make fun of french athletes as well, but in my humble opinion this is way too much. France has no right to judge our athletes, if we're all in drugs, then OK i'll be the first to point an accusing finger at ALL of them, but first a judge has to prove we're all "high", that simple.

Video from the same TV Show, where you can see Iker Casillas, Pau Gasol and of course the beloved Rafael Nadal signing with syringes a petition to support Contador after having been suspended for 2 years (here's the joke, instead of using ball pens they use syringes, very funny).

"After.....blabla.... many spanish sportsmen have signed a petition to support the cyclist champion (Contador). Here we've got the football player.....the basketball player...and of course Rafael Nadal, who brought his own ball pen"

Wow... I haven't seen the 2nd one, but I must say it's too much !
I remember when we were doing jokes like that at school after Ben Johnson case, but at least he was positive, guilty ! About Rafa, it's not the case !
Usually that "puppets" show is very funny, they also make fun of french people (of course) and they often go beyond the limits... Ask Ribery...
But there... It's a bit free, and a bit... how say... not "racist", cause I truly don't believe the writers of this show are racists (honestly), but it's not smart at all, and it's giving racists people something to talk about...

I can understand Spain is schocked... It's very free, not funny, and not clever at all ! Humor is also a "clever" thing...
