World Tour to ITST

Postby ILuvBillVal » Sun, 28 Feb 2010 18:49

I assume there are some of you, who, like me have made this transition. My roomate bought Top Spin 3 because we actually play tennis and I would casually check out the World Tour. I found it a lot of fun and started to get okay at the game, then ended up hearing of ITST through Rob who kicked my ass and then said something like, "nice kick serve!" (thanks Rob LOL)

Anyway I guess I am wondering out of you guys who began playing on the World Tour, how you heard of ITST and then how you made the transition. I know I've learned so much since joining ITST I've realized I lacked so many skills back when I played exclusively World Tour.

Also what about bringing new talent in from World Tour to strengthen the competition at ITST? Have any favorite WT players? I like Redferne01 myself. At this moment I don't think he'd fall very far from top 50, but he plays fair and has a lot of potential. Most importantly he's always been a great gentleman.

Feel free to share your opinions and/or reflect on WT experiences to ITST. Just please no BigFootGREG stories!!!

This is exactly how I heard about ITST, except Rob didn't start kicking my ass until a few months later. I think we went 15-13 deep in the match tb first time we played. And I can't kick serve...

Redferne is indeed awesome to play, but I think there's only 4 or 5 of us who are up late enough to ever meet him on WT... Or maybe he's just always on? I'm pretty sure I've mentioned ITST to him in the past, can't remember the reaction. I bring up ITST quite often if the player is interesting and has a somewhat reasonable character setup/game. But I think everybody who plays WT these days has heard of ITST. If they're not in, it's because they don't want to play within the confines of 90-40. Come to think of it, I can't think of anyone besides redferne who MIGHT join. Maybe blufetish, he's pretty fun.
I still love playing WT with a Sim character and surprising the overpowered guys, almost as much as playing a straight up sim match. Running them ragged with their 30 stamina is immensely satisfying,:P even if I end up losing in two tiebreaks (which happens a lot).

Both guys mentioned are ITST members. They simply don't have time to play, but they did register a while back. I played them both as well, good people.

Emate, I still didn't see you new and improved serve

I played DMT somewhere else . Then saw the ITST site. Went on and bought an Xbox360 so I could play TS2 on ITST. But hated the game. After a while I changed my mind and started playing ITST.

So for me it was the other way around :-)

I don't see either redferne01 or blufetish on the list of members? :?

Yeah, we need to play again, I haven't been online at all except late night for quite a few weeks now. Except yesterday, when you appeared to be watching some chick-flick. In fact, your status told me more than I wanted to know...

The only guy i can think about is Taxi Dermie but it's been a while since i last saw him play online.

I came up to ITST thanx to a guy called ROMANO94 if someone can remember him from the TS2 days.
I liked from the first sight, "coup de foudre". I never thought video game "competition" could be cool.
Without ITST, i guess i would have thrown the xbox through the window already.

Yeah I remember Romano94, good guy but we had some really laggy matches, I hated playing him...he's still on my friends list actually.

Rich Lewis invited me to this site I believe, but damn it was so long ago...

I knew this place back in the TS2 days, but I was in school and I really did not have time for gaming.
I joined as soon as TS3 was out, but Anil keeps on saying sorry to me because he thinks he converts me.

In my TS1 time on the PC you couldnt go around ITST. Online gaming used Gamespy with a chat lobby. So there was always someone telling you to join ITST.
