Race Rank

Postby ILuvBillVal » Fri, 19 Feb 2010 01:29

So I'm fairly certain that "race rank" is more or less your rank for the year thus far. I guess my question is what is the relationship between race rank and world ranking? Is there some point where you might start to see the two correlate, or are there certain benefits to having a high race ranking? Seedings are determined by world ranking? Sorry if this is a hardcore "n00b" question lol I was just wondering from time to time.

World Ranking decides seeding and Race Ranking decides who are going to play at the WTF or YEC.
These two rankings should be the same at the end of the calender year.

The race for the year is just that. Its based on your results for the calender year and the top 8 performers for that calender year play the year end championships.

However overall rank is a rolling calender , its ongoing.

the race rank is kinda pointless since it ends up the same (in the 99% of the cases) as the world ranking before the what the fk..i mean the wtf....sorry, the world tour finals..

last year it was even removed from the atp, cause they said it was confusing altough it was cool to see who was performing better up to date during the year...

Yea. That is the best thing about the race. You can see who is on-fire for the year leading into the events. I do like that they favor the world tour rankings over the race now.

I like the over-all ranking more! :tu

The race ranking is indeed the ranking over 1 season. So it starts counting on 1 January. The entry ranking counts over 52 weeks. The entry ranking decides the seedings and the entry to the end of the year championship.

The race ranking has been made obsolete by the ATP last year. We followed this but have kept the race ranking intact for statistical purposes.

the race rank is the one which determines the entry to the end of the year championship. Or you're talking about itst?

Im talking about ITST and ATP. The ATP no longer uses the race ranking for anything.

Yea. It is just like . . . who is performing better and getting through rounds this year. Other then that, it is useless.

No man. I was not doing that. I was just saying that I agree with this. I am doing nothing different than the other guys. We are talking about the ATP Race.
