Grand Slam Qualifying

Postby SlicerITST » Mon, 06 Jun 2011 10:42

For Roland Garros we had our first ever qualifying tournament before the main draw. For us this was a success and we will continue to for Grand Slams for some time to come. In this post I will detail the procedure we will be following from now on.

The sign up deadline for the tournament will be on the Thursday before the event starts. Any player that wishes to sign up later can request a wild card in the appropriate forum thread created for this. Your request will be reviewed by the Management team.

We determine the appropriate number of direct entries and qualifying players according to the following table:

135-140 players = 4 qualifiers (11-16 in draw)
141-152 players = 8 qualifiers (21-32 in draw)
153-176 players = 16 qualifiers (41-64 in draw)

The players not meeting the cut are put into the qualifying draw, which is released Thursday at midnight. The deadlines of the qualifying rounds(three days for round one and two days for round two) will be tight and there will be absolutely no extensions.
