outbox means that they have not opened your pm yet.

when they do open it, you will see it in the sent box

I have a question along those same lines.

Lately I have had difficulty with my opponents working to get our matches scheduled. If this goes on for a few days and I am getting no help or no response from my opponent, can the tournament host see the pm's I have sent? In the event that anything becomes an issue will I have to save and forward all pm's to the host?

Until this week I have had no problem with my opponents and actually have met some very nice mature players but this week has been a bit frustrating.

Thanks

The tournament hosts can see the messages you and your opponent sent each other. He will use these messages to make a decision on the match if needed.

Yes, your tournament host can see the pm's between you and your opponent. If you are trying to make it work and your opponent isn't, your host will know this and give you the walkover.
