Getting eliminated without playing a match

Why is it that I get eliminated from a tournament after trying to contact my opponent on several times to play our match.

I tell the host as well and still get eliminated.I though the host could see the private messages so they know that you have tried to contact an opponent

This has happened twice already and getting abit fed up with it.

Please don't bring this to the forums, hosts always try to make the best decisions as possible, if you disagree just ask him for an explanation, and if he doesn't respond (maybe he's busy or something) try to contact a senior host.
