Should we play the reg and sim circuits next year or no?

I think the best solution would be to have only Grand Slams, in SIM too.

With some good promotion, ITST e-mails and/or PMs, it may be easier to get former good players to play too, also when they know that others don't have a lot of practice either.

Hey ThierryH,

Great to see you pal. I see where you are coming from. The point I was trying to make is that the SIM circuit is better off than the reg and womens' tour for sure.

I saw just recently a full draw of 32 players. That is a very active number.

Guys. Please. We are grown men, for the most part. Please not here. We are ending the year with the championship for crying out loud. Let's keep it healthy.

Which tournament was that?

The active numbers for both tours is low and ever declining (a pity). And therefore the competition sucks, I think. If we want to keep the tours or one tour "alive", then only Grand Slams because of the reasons TH mentioned.

Anyhow, we could just let it start with the Oz Open and see how many players sign up. If the boom is so massive, we still can think about the future.

There's 2 problems with that:

A) The Slams always have a higher turnout.
B) The first tournaments of the year usually have higher turnouts as well. It could start off looking good, but then steadily die out as the season progresses. Judging by the trend of the past 2 years, we wouldn't be able to fill an 8 player draw by mid-season. :(

Yeah, I see that point. And what about the general idea of opening Grand Slams for the sim tour?

This is fair. I know that the sim tour is the strongest out of all the circuits. I'd hate to see this go for sure.

Oh, by the way, I cannot recall the tournament when the draw was full, but I think this one is not so bad!:

I think all the events is impossible, but the best solution in my opinion is to play Grand Slams and also masters series. I think it's possible, almost 20 players sign up for the World tour finals in sim. The sim tour is not dead, and only grand slams is not enough.

Agreed. I think we will be fine another year for the MS and MSS circuits, because the WS was worst, but it still had been given the courtesy of running this year.

So, I hope that the managers will let the MS and MSS circuits start.

Don't you think it's better to just end it honorably, rather than just let it bleed to death?

Meaning? Well, I get you. You must not wait until the tour just dies out? I get you. The WS circuit was just embarassing (we certainly squeezed every ounce of blood for that one).

Yet, I think if there is an interest still in the game, we can keep going. It is just my understanding.

The WS circuit was horrible this year, and we certainly have more interested players outside of this circuit. If this went another year, I think, honestly speaking we can go another year or so with the MSS tour. May be only one year with the MS tour.

Whatever the case may be, I respect ITST's decision in this regard. I am very content and honored to have been a long-time member of this tour.
