First impressions AO International tennis

So it’s been a few hours, but this game is way better than I thought it was going to be.

It’s actually pretty good, really enjoying it. Anyone else planning on getting it?

I was waiting for someone like yourself to say the game is pretty good, so now, probably yes.

A lot like Top Spin 3 IMO. It's pretty average until the risk shot comes into play, then it's actually a very decent game. Risk shots are very effective when timed well, but also fairly easy to miss.
Biggest wins: Singles:DC:def. mohd954 (10) 7-6(4) 7-6(9), RG:def.pigrosofo (15) 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6(7)
Doubles #1! 8-5-16

Ik I did   but the anims can be a bit buggy sometimes though (I.E. volley anims from the baseline), and drop shots are WAY too effective, but with our rules that won't be an issue.

The gameplay looks like TE with the preview of the shot, it seems way more interesting than TWT. Big issue on serve return however, with ridiculous rocket shots...

i bought this on ps4 and its actually really great. it has a a big learning curve though and it only really clicked for me after about 5 hours play once i leaned how to hit aggressive shots. This would be great as a tour!

:D I loved it , then didn’t like it , now I’m back to loving it again.

It’s hard, it’s risky, it’s a pain in the ass at times.

It looks great and feels next gen, never agreed with the reviews or commments the game was stuck in the past graphically. It also is slick on the presentation side and all the oncourt animations and cutscenes etc feel right and look good. The likenesses of the pros are the best we have seen, we can all remember the sweaty Roger from TP4, we all know Roger has never sweat a bead in his life (on the tennis court) so don’t look back with rose tinted glasses that somehow these graphics are not up to scratch. I’m not saying the pros play like the pros but in all honesty that doesn’t bother me at all at moment, and I haven’t played too much to comment.

The game is hard and takes loads of concentration to play well. I’ve started a career on pro which isn’t the hardest difficulty and it’s hard. I don’t know if it’s because I’m old now or just because it’s new but I really have to think about the points and games to win anything. There is no coasting at the moment.

When I created my first character it was letting me put all the attributes up to 99 which I thought was strange. There has been an update since and when I created my second character after the update it’s not possible. I have to say I do have hope that I’ll get the hang of it because my 99 character plays brilliant. So maybe it’s just a case of finding a balance and building up your stats in career. Gives me hope of a good sim tour possibly.

Anyway more positives than negatives at the moment from me, which you would expect from a tennis/tennis gaming fan. The only down side is having no time to play it!

I’ve created an ITST Group on the AO hub game page (Xbox) I don’t even know what that means really, I’m so out of touch with it but I guess we can share videos etc. Anyone can join and post.

^^ The aggressive shots honestly take this game to the next level, however the anims bug out sometimes when you're charging forward towards the ball to take it on the rise and the game thinks you want to hit a volley, so the volley anim pops up.
