Don't give up on this game just yet.

The critics rightfully bashed the game when it was released in Australia and New Zealand in January. Since then however there have been 17 (and counting) patches. The game is reportedly much better. How much better remains to be seen.

The game releases worldwide on May 8th.

I'm not holding my breath, but there's hope. And hope is good.

Creating characters is a ton of fun -- for me, often more enjoyable than actually playing the game. Tennis World Tour seems to be lacking in this regard but AO Tennis has all the bases covered --- just hoping the game (and it's 17 patches) will be good when it's released (May 8th).

Back in the TS1 days I'd drive home on my lunch hour - 5 days a week - just to create characters.

Worth noting, the game has been rebranded -- and possibly rebuilt. AO Tennis is now AO International Tennis -- the once crumbling game could now have a foundation.

In terms of "Editor" the AO it's really fun, I mean, logo creator, player creator, stadium creator... amazing! I just wish that the gameplay was at the same level.

They have made enough steps ahead to make it work like a respectable arcade at least. Even a few signature animations here and there - Anderson's serve is a certain one, but Sugita and Pliskova looked good too.

Gotta say it looks much better than in its current state. Especially the anims are much more smoother and contact point is in order.

For me it now looks better than TWT, and i did not think i would say this few weeks ago.

Love the game or hate the game, you gotta give the Big Ant guys a shitload of credit for their effort....
