Tennis World Tour: THOUGHTS / SUGGESTIONS

Too early for a hands-on impression (the game release worldwide on May 22nd) but based on what you've seen so far, what do you like, dislike, hope to see improved, etc.

Moving forward - especially after the game is released - post your impressions/suggestions here. Game developers are frequent visitors to the ITST and your suggestion(s) might see the light of day in the form of a patch/DLC.

Enhancements/DLC already scheduled/discussed...

The creative director of the French studio has stated that the doubles will be made available via an update shortly after launch.

"We hope to offer it in the days or weeks following the release. You know double it's a completely different game. Out of respect for the players, we must refine all aspects of our production. I am sure they will appreciate it. This will obviously be a free DLC."

As for the paid content that will be outlined after the release of the game, but the developer has things in mind.

"We would like to add an official grand slam tournament or other tournaments. We made the choice not to focus on this at first, especially as the amounts requested seemed out of our reach", producer Romain Ginocchio explained. "It probably won't be Wimbledon as we know the difficulty of reproducing the tournament on consoles mainly because of the lack of interest of the organisers."

Other paid DLC could also add additional players:

"We currently have only 5 women out of the 30 players that make up our current cast. It's not much and we'd like to add as soon as we have the opportunity."

1. Gestures : I mean come on, we're playing with Federer etc, not Ruffin or Teixeira... They should have at least copied their gestures
2. Hawk-eye : back decades ago with smash court tennis 3, we already had it
3. Improvement of the ball motion : sometimes it looks completely weird, and animations are not helpful with this

1. Publishers told me that individual gesture will be in the game. you can't see them in the gameplay videos because it is from beta version gameplay. only zverev seems to have individual gestures in the beta.

2. I'm totally against hawk eye in a competitive video game. hawk i would implement that they were wrong calls in the game which wouldn't make sense.
wrong calls are there in reality because humans get things false some times. but computers never get things false so there is literally no need for hawk eye. i wouldn't what the game to make wrong calls on purpose just to copy reality.

3. i agree that they have to put a lot of work on animations and ball motions. eventhough they stated that it is so much work for a small studio to add more animations to the game...

Agree.

Odd that so many people are complaining but the Hawk-Eye omission cause yeah, it's inclusion in a video makes zero sense.

I suppose it could have been included as an option, to satisfy the casual tennis fan.

Actually, I think it could be great to add "mistakes" like they do in the real life. It's like in PES, some referees will say foul + yellow card and some others won't even call the foul. It could give a bit of tension, and to use your challenge to prove you're actually right must be really satisfying.
For the gestures, are you sure? Because for example in top spin 4, they said it looked very similar to their real gestures but in reality, they all had gestures of beginners

Well, to be honest, I'm a casual gamer myself, so yeah, I can see how the Hawk-Eye would be fun. That said, for serious gamers -- gamers who care about rankings, trying to win titles, etc., etc., -- I'd be pissed if I lost a match because of a programmed error; an error that I couldn't challenge possibly cause I had no challenges remaining.

Haha I understand but as in real life, it's part of the game
Do you know if there will be a demo before launching the game?

From TWT Facebook page ...

Note that the game will come with a day one patch, so make sure to check for updates before you claim the court for yourself.

Rest assured that we’re reading and making note of your feedback, and updates and improvements for the coming weeks and months are in the pipeline.

Finally, we’re working on a roadmap of things we want to add to the game after release and hope we can share it with you soon, so stay tuned!

I've been looking for other videos and saw 2-3 of them, gestures still look like national players and not specifics to the players...

Game is out and... It's totally dope. Sometimes you hit the ball without touching it, you hit slices when you want to play spin, the crowd is dead, the sounds are from bad to worst
Everything sucks about this game, so much deception after so many years of waiting
I guess we'll have to wait 7 more to maybe see something decent
