i posted a comment to the vid, quoting it :

Not bad visually although animation wise, being transitions or more specially signature shots were at a better level in TS4.
Ball physics are still much better in some good tennis indie games i won't advertise here with all due respect.
Another issue i can forsee is a dumbed down gameplay thru the series. Top Spin 4 could have been much better if it didn't had get rid of the risk shots present in TS3, wich were adding an additional layer of gameplay, eg. means more depth, more competition possible, more longevity to the game.
And now Tennis World Tour removes another layer to the mix, aka the timing ?
Personnaly i won't buy this game until BigBen gets the timing component back in gameplay mechanics. Because, as is, after the first hype, the playerbase will dry pretty fast in my opinion. Key to longevity for this type of game is gameplay depth (easy to learn, hard to master, long learning curve).

Elias It seems that the timing is back in the game after some feedback from the players at this tournament :wink:



So let's see .. if they get back the timing mechanic into the mix, i may keep a more interested eye on the game.

I wish the UE were reality....remains to be seen, they might be a product of poor timing only that will clean itself up once the players DEMOing the game are at a better level. Although I don't think you could hit UE in TS4 even if you were a bad player.

From my experience of playing the game you will hit UE every time you try to give too much power to certain shots. Also the maximum power you can give to a shot to reduce the chance of an error depends on different factors:

- Your position on the court (the nearer you are to the net then less power you can give)
- whether you try to shot longline or cross (cross will allow to give more power without producing an error)
- whether your hit a ball while moving slow or while sprinting
- your player‘s attributes

I think that all these things sum up to a probability of an error that then in some situations will make your shot likely to become an error.

You can clearly see this things watching the gameplay videos we have so far. Most times they miss a shot down the line or its because they tried to hit it with more than 70% power. Most time they hit a shot into the net they were hitting it from no mans land (with at least one foot on the baseline or between t-line and baseline)
All this resulted in lots of endless cross shot rallies because longline attempts seemed to be too much of a risk.

It's the Grand Slam Tennis of this PS4 generation, with the same priority on licenses, at the expanse of the gameplay & physics which just look ridiculous. Manutoo must laugh when he sees these videos. It's miles away from Full Ace or TE...
Even Super Tennis on SNES provide a better tennis feeling than this shit. The balls don't even touch the racket :lol:

All in all : huge waste of time and money to develop that stuff, it's gonna be a failure in sales with a very predictable bad buzz.
