Had a quick hit with it. Feels pretty great.
Doesn't feel too heavy, it's really stable, and the swing style seems to fit me well. ME LIKEY.

My younger bro is now jealous, and wants to get something along the lines of a Wilson K Bold 100 - anyone tried it?

Per Rob's suggestion, I just got it with the 'default' strings, which happen to be Head Sonic Pro 1.25, strung at around (I think) 25kg. They seem decent anyway, but I'll upgrade at some point.

Excellent racquet for a youngster. One great thing about it for a kid is that it comes in very small grips sizes.

And there's nothing wrong with Sonic Pro - I find it comparable to Signum Pro Plasma, a very popular poly.

I'd probably string the MP Radical pretty loose with a poly - and that will happen over time, so no need to cut them out.

Had a good 3 hour hit with the Head today.
Really loving it. Just finding it more work to generate my own power, so I'll focus on that.
Responds really well with just about everything, though.

What are your opinions on vibration dampeners? The one supplied didn't quite fit, I'm guessing it was for a 16x19 racquet, and this is 18x20.

Vibration dampeners have absolutely no effect on how the racquet plays - use which ever one you like best.

Vibration dampeners change the sound of the racket, nothing else. There is no downside to not using one, you will just make more noise every time you hit the ball.

Most people do seem to prefer some sort of dampener, but I do know a few who like the "ping" sound you get without one.

A general rule of thumb is that the bigger the dampener, the more effect it has.

I don't like dampeners. Feels like I get less feel with the racquet when I use one.

You play music right? I think this is why. It is just the type of a person you are. You need to "hear" at the same time as "feel". You probably like a racquet that gives more feedback as well and generally on a stiffer side.

I find that playing any music is great for tennis. It installs the feeling of rhythm and follow-through, order and verity. Tons of positives. Piano is the best for this in my opinion.

I like being able to feel my shot. I like to know how I hit it, rather than just know that I hit it. I use a Aero Pro Drive at the moment, so not sure how much that accounts for "stiffness", though I do prefer the feel of a K-90 :3

i use dampener, and i know it makes no difference which one you play with, but tennis is a phycological game, and i don't feel the ball well if i don't use one of these
