How could I improve my forehand technique?

Postby babolat » Fri, 28 Aug 2015 19:54

I know you're supposed to focus on the bodywork, but what kind of technique do I use to "separate the racquet from the hand"? Right now, my arm and racquet both move forward together and I just can't tolerate this. Obviously I want that 90 degree racquet lag to happen. For correct technique, it lags behind like there is a hinge between the end of the racquet handle and the hand.

I would recommend opening the video in VLC and using the (E) key to go frame by frame for better analysis.

Actually, I think I might be getting a little better with it. Djvarik, you're right. Anybody have tips on better timing? And how to make my left arm not look stupid and bent?

Hi,

I am not a pro but to me it seems like you could improve 2 things.

You could use your left arm while aiming : https://www.perfect-tennis.com/wp-conte ... tation.jpg

I think your right arm is too bent when you prepare, maybe move away a bit from the ball. It doesn't have to be full straight but something between what you do and a straight arm.
