In my opinion, Pro Hurricane is one of the worst polys. It just doesn't have the spin that most polys have, plus it's very old - it's one of the first polys, and polys have come a long way since it was introduced.

For comfort, you want a soft poly. Head Sonic Pro is one of the softest you can get, so I'd try that. I would also go with the 17 gauge - almost all polys are durable, so there's not usually much reason to go with a 16 gauge.

Some others: Prince Tour XP, Wilson RipSpin, Dunlop Black Widow (the softest, but not very durable), Luxilon ALU Feel, and Prince Tour XC.

I've been using Prince Tour XC for a few months and am very impressed with it. It comes in 18 gauge (I use the thinnest poly I can), seems to hold tension very well, and i have a set that is over two months old that still snaps back into place. I use Wilson Natural Gut 17 in the mains with polys crosses - mixed with the Tour XC, it just seems to keep playing like new forever.

Agreed, hurricane is kinda poopy. I really like the edged polys like rpm and tour bite these days. Like rob said, 17 or 18 all the way.

Thank you very much Rob!! Your tennis knowledge is impressive and always very useful :)

I went to another tennis shop, and the guy told me exactly the same than you: "Pro Hurricane is the worst and oldest poly string" :D. Damn! i have been more than 1 year playing with iron wires. Even the strings were scraped with the ground (i usually play cement) and despite everything, it didn't broke.

The tension of the raquet was still relatively ok, but it was a nightmare to play so much time with this strings and around 27 kg tension. Like playing lottery. Also was really difficult to make a good kick serve.

Also thanks emate007! but to say that pro hurricane is kinda poopy is too kind from your side, i would say that it's a s**t as big as a castle (it's an spanish expression, but i guess you can translate it to english), unless you want to play all your life with the same strings. In that case Pro Hurrricane is perfect :P

Finally i decided to try Prince tour strings (not sure XP or XC). Let's see what happen!

Thanks guys, for the tips and the help

Finally i have strung my racquet (following Rob's advice) with Head Sonic Pro 1.25 and i'm really impressed. It's a very good choice.

Thanks again Rob! :)
