How often do you play real tennis?

I'm just kind of curious how often you all play real-life tennis. Lately I have become much more addicted to real tennis than I ever was to TS2, and I play every day now.

Winter- Everyday indoors if possible.

After March when indoor dome is taken down. - Varies from maybe everyday to missing 2 days out in a week due to weather.

Sweet...soon I want to register with the USTA so I can maybe compete in a club ladder or something, once I've gotten consistent enough with my serve. I can occasionally absolutely smoke a serve but it also completely fails me from time to time.

Have you ever played on clay, Chris? I've tried to find some courts near where I live, but there's NOTHING...I bet you there's less than 50 clay courts on the entire West coast of the US.

If you stand anywhere in California, though, you can basically throw a rock in any direction and be sure it landed somewhere near a hardcourt

I try to play. However, it is hard to play with someone. My tennis club is failing (so, I have to do another plan). My family does not like the way I play my aggressive tennis (they are more like club players).

Since my dad is back into my life, he mentioned a desire to play tennis with me . . . YIPPEE. However, he warned me that he may hit the balls over the fence.

At this stage, who cares? I'll take it . . . :)

The same can be said of the place where I live, if you can throw a rock 145 miles.

Nah, just being a smart-ass.

I do live in a rural part of the LP so you'd still have to chuck a rock pretty damn far.

I have to walk outside, look roughly northeast, and throw a rock less than 100 yards and it will land on my local court 8) which I rule with an iron fist.

I would much rather live in rural Michigan though, very pretty

Haha I'm probably just misunderstanding you, but do you mean to say that they don't approve of the aggressive manner in which you play tennis based strictly on moral grounds (maybe Aggressive Tennis Playing is breaking one of the 10 Commandments, haven't looked at those in a while), or your family just doesn't like playing with you because you play too aggressively?

My problem right now is that I hit with too much topspin off my forehand (seriously). It bounces really high, and almost all of my friends that I play (none of whom take tennis as seriously as I) want to quit after a couple minutes because it is simply a pain in the ass trying to hit balls that are bouncing around your shoulders. If I hold back and try to play less aggressively though, I end up mishitting the ball or just sailing it long. I need to find a decent hitting partner.

The option "Only on vacation" would have been for me.

I played it a lot last vacation. I think it went pretty good for someone who doesnt play much tennis. Im sure i would still loose to about 99% of the people here though.

Yuo won't find any hard courts in Germany. Only Clay courts and carpet indoors.

After you played half a year indoor you will wonder how slow clay courts are.

I find some info on the "Deutscher Tennis Bund" website:

In Germany there are 9945 tennis clubs with 49 500 courts.

Do you find clay courts in public parks in Germany, or are they mainly a private-club type of thing?

Public courts are rare, at least in this area. Clay courts belong to the club in most cases.
