Verdasco vs Murray

Postby Moralspain » Tue, 02 Jul 2013 07:30

I think Verdasco has good chances of beating Murray this time. It's up to Verdasco though, it depends on how he plays this time.
In an hypothetical match between Verdasco at his 100% and Murray at his 100% i'm with Verdasco, problem here is that is not easy to see Verd playing at that level many marches in a row, that's why he almost never gets good results.

I voted Verdasco in 5, or Murray in 3 (yes, you can select 2)

Should be a good match. Darrin Cahill who is somewhat apart of Verdasco's team and announces for espn gave some great insight on Verdasco. First he said Verdasco was so low on confidence he was thinking about skipping Wimbeldon and playing small clay court tournements instead. Second he said Verdasco couldn't "feel" his forehand for 6 months or so but around the time of Wimbeldon he could feel it again. It certainly shows.

With that said I think even with Verdasco at his best Murray is still in control of who wins. The old Murray who would just play defensive would put the match in Verdasco's control. But the Murray of today attacks when he's suppose to and still plays spectacular defense. But if Verdasco plays his best, Murray has to play his best or hes done.

I've always liked Verdasco; to me, he has the ultimate combination of power and spin in his groundstrokes.

If Verdasco is having a good hair day, he has a chance. If not, he'll be too preoccupied to play good tennis.

why not? opinions are like assholes, everyone has one (i hope so) :tu

Like i said, the problem is that it's almost impossible to see Fer playing his best tennis, last time was in AO many years ago, but he was capable of playing like angels that time

Verdasco at his best could beat anyone. As long as it's not Nadal at his best.

Murray in 4, but i might change to 3...Muzza just way too good when making his opponent play his worst tennis after 2hours of intense tennis.
