Wimbledon 2013

I would love for anyone outside of the big 4 to win. Preferably a younger guy.

Jerzy perhaps? ...I know Gulbis is playing well, but he is not playing well on grass, too dependent on his serve, not enough time to execute the FH. He will probably get a scalp, hopefully two. Raonic with all his big game and serve is not great on grass either. But that is all very unlikely.

From the big 4, I think Djokovic has the best game right now. It would take a very good Draw for Federer to win, and even then, he would have to go through 2 of the big 4 to win it. Rafa will get knocked out early by a big hitter. Lately, quite a few guys almost did it, grass will provide a good platform for one of the big hitters to get over the hump me thinks. Rosol is not Soderling. Murray may get to the finals, but he just cannot win a good Rafa or Djoker, he would love Fed in finals at this point.

Ferrer has zero chances to me, Haas as well. Ferrer just can't win any of the big 4 - so no title for him. Haas is too old, won't last mentally or physically, although he can have a nice run with decent draw. Waw can't play on grass, so he is out. Berdman will get Gulbis in 2-3rd round....Tsonga doesn't like winning big titles, Gasquet proved many times he ain't no winner. Delpo seems to break down before getting SF nowadays...

Federer for the win.. :D

Although I think fed didn't play well in Halle.. Maybe cuz of quick transformation from clay to grass.. Anyways I ll love to see a fed vs rafa match at wimbledon (with fed knocking nadal out  )

On grass, Federer is just another player. So I see the Swiss Maestro create the sensation again, if he systematically warms up with Jack Sock, of course. :D

As for the surprise package of that upcoming Gran Slam, I would pick Youzhny. I watched the Gerry Weber Open Final and can tell the guy has improved a lot in terms of consistency during rallies. Also, we tend to describe Wawrinka's backhand as being the most beautiful and effective on tour, but Youzhny's has no reason to be envious of it.

Wow...lots of bold statements 8)

The draw really means something if nadal stays 5th and Wimbeldon doesn't give him special seeding. If he is put in Ferrer's quarter no harm no foul. But any other quarter I give nadal and whoevers quarter hes in almost no chance of winning, especially Federer. Having to beat 3 of the big four at one slam, almost impossible.

Nadal could do it at the French, and Nole could do it in Australia, but even then it would be no walk in the park.

I think Federer definitely can win it, but it will take a:

- Good draw
- Good start
- Good mood
- Converting BPs
- Good serving

Too many variables for Fed nowadays. Can't say the same about Rafa and Nole, they win despite the variables, not because of them. Murray is in Feds category.

Fed is still one of the best Grass courter, if not the best, but the other big 2 (even 3) have the mental edge, youth, prime game, stamina, ability to keep the head in the game. Things that seem to be fading away from Fed. Ability is there....but that is not enough to win noways.

Remember what did motivate Fed so much last year to win Wimbledon : taking Nole's Rank1 and overtake Sampras record.
Now he can take an 8th grass slam and i see him being over motivated once more with this idea in his mind. Last year Fed lost to Haas in Halle's Final, can't remember if he played well there during the whole tournie, but i'm pretty sure Fed will be very competitive at Wim this year again. Only thing that could stop him would be getting Rafa in QF, or a great mover/hitter in a great day (could be Benneteau, Dimitrov or Youzhny for instance) early in the tournament.

Otherwise i think Murray would be my favourite.

Don't hold your breath djarvik Murray and djokovic are the two best players on the tour at the mo, can't see anyone beating them on the way to the finals, cilic can never finish off match and struggles when the top 4 change tactics in a match, ferrer just can't cut it with the big boys, tsonga to inconsistent, raonic runs out of ideas del Potro could cause an upset, federer will struggle physically against naval djokovic or Murray now and I can't see naval beating djokovic or Murray off clay courts, gulbis rubbish, youzny not good enough berdych can't compete with the big boys, I can't see past Murray djokovic final and I predict Murray to scrape it in a epic final these always have epic physical matches because of there similar game and monster defences and there return of serve ratio which beats anyone else hands down.
