Roland Garros 2013

So, who do you think is going to win the second Grand Slam of the season? Hard not to pick Nadal when you consider:

• Federer is over the hill - done winning Slams (nope, not even Wimbledon this year, sorry Fed fans).
• Djokovic is suddenly vulnerable, wonky ankle and all.
• The only thing Murray can effectively do on clay is dig holes and build small castles.

Maybe this is the year David Ferrer finally wins a Slam. Long shot, hell yes, but it wouldn't surprise, not this year anyway.

Who/what do you think?

Definitely Djokovic, no reason he can win MC against the best and not take the title in RG if he's careful with his ankle and doesn't burn everything in Rome. And i'd bet on Haas making it to the SF, depending on his draw of course.

Either it's gonna be Nole or rafa.. Ferrer has no chance not when top 3 guys are around even when they are not at their full form.. Federer is not done yet .. Although he has a bad year uptill now but I m sure he ll find his rhythm soon.. It's odd how people count him out of competition when every time he comes up with winning something big

For Federer to win RG the same thing is going to have to happen the only other time he won RG - all the top players will have to lose early, get sick, injure themselves or die.

He has made the final 5 times, and did beat Djokovic in the SF the year he won, so.....

But I agree, he has no chance this year. Neither does Rafa. Neither does anyone else who isn't named Novak. I'm not a big Nole fan, but I can't see him losing in any Slam this year.

No, Federer defeated del Potro in a 5-setter in 2009, Djokovic lost to Kohlschreiber.

I can see Djokovic losing at Wimbledon (Federer or Murray can stop him there, yes, Murray) or US Open (he is favourite there, but with the scheduling or weather you never know), but Roland Garros is his to lose -- best chance to complete the set this year.

Damn, that's right. I was thinking of 2011, when he ended Nole's winning streak.

After his loss against Nadal in Madrid, I'm beginning to think Ferrer is somewhat of a choke artist. Not in the typical, obvious way, but damn, so many times he has been close to victory (especially in matches with Nadal) and just can't get the job done. Some bad luck, for sure, but generally speaking, he wilts when the heat is cranked. :?

Ferrer has no game to get past Nadal.

Federer won't win shit.

Nole didn't look good at all after Indian Wells.

Murray still sucks on clay.

So I guess Nadal's 8th title.

I think Nadal will get knocked out by a big hitter destroying his BH. It is THE weakest it has been in years.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

Someday the winning will stop, nothing last forever so this year my bet is on Murray

It's pretty hard to make a choice. I mean...

- Nole has some issue with his ankle, but he did win Monte-Carlo and is always at the top in Slams.
- Rafa is definitely not at his best and lost against Nole in Monte-Carlo, but got to the final in all the tournament he played since he came back.
- Federer seems to be dead (Yes, he does...), but almost nobody would have thought he could beat Djokovic in 2011, right ? But he did ! So why wouldn't he be able to surprise us again ?
- Murray... no, not Murray.
