News item:

"Rafael Nadal withdrew from the U.S. Open on Wednesday, sidelined by the knee tendinitis that has kept him out of action since his stunning loss at Wimbledon in late June."

Tendinitis or something worse? I'm guessing there is more to the story.

Yea his knee was fine. I believe If that 30 min roof closing delay didn't come in the way, then rafa would have beaten rosol for sure.. Federer said yesterday that he is worried about nadal's injury as wel. We be never seen rafa missing this many tournaments. I believe nadal being a defensive player and having a nice footwork utilizes his legs too much than any other player on tour. As rafa gets old this style of play will trouble his body.

I can honestly see him retiring at the end of this year if he doesnt play any more tennis, this tendonitis injury has plagued him for a while now and isnt something that is likely to just go away.

There's no point in him playing just to get fit for the clay season, he'll drop down the rankings even if he won every tourn going on the clay. His game was never designed for a lengthy career like Fed's effortless style, the guy's ran himself into the ground.

As long as he remains ITST member, I am happy. Tennis can wait.

Hidden suspension ? It's a really really strange injury... As Soderling, Monfils and others...

News article at Tennis.com:

"Donald Young reflects on his 17-match losing streak"

Why is this news? Donald Young is a never-was. Why is a 17 match losing streak noteworthy? I'm sure some other tennis bum (yes, Young is a tennis bum) has lost more than 17 consecutive matches. What gives???

Maybe tennis.com is a site with American roots? Or with a big American reader base?

Uh oh. Seems Del Po is struggling a bit with his left wrist in his match with Troicki. Hope it is only a short term thing. :?

The most losses in a row by a mens tennis player i think is 21. So Donald Young is dangerously approaching the all time losing record
