Queens/Halle

Postby Saarbrigga » Fri, 15 Jun 2012 23:02

Queens: Murray out in the first round.

Halle:
Nadal lost to Kohlschreiber 3-6 4-6,
Fed beats Raonic 6-7 6-4 7-6, semi Kohlschreiber-Haas, Fed-...?

We in Halle have a real grass court, the balls are fast and don t jump very high...not good for Rafa.

Yay Kohli!

Nadal doesn't really bother to win Halle or Queens, he's just collecting grass court experience. Haas defeating Berdych is the bigger surprise for me.

Interesting question, i do know that at Queens and Wimbledon use Slazenger but i heard that at Gerry Webber tournament guys are using no logo balls this year, don't know if that's true though

I noticed in Halle all 4 semi-finalists are playing one-handed backhands!
Fed,Youzhny,Kohli and Haas.
How long has it been since that happened in an ATP tournament?

I know that Dunlop is the official ball sponsor at Gerry Weber Open.

Haas is the man, man. Easily one of the best players to not reach a slam final. Could have had a few if not for injuries. Remember his serve and volleying win at halle 09 and run to the semis aafter? And this from a guy who never SVed as much in his youth and on the slow grass. His match against cilic was great.

Yeah they use Slazenger balls, pops up everywhere on the home page and is one of the sponsors.

Interesting. Probably 15-20 years!

Edit: Haas won the first set.

Youzhny can raise problems to Fed : last year 4 sets @Wimbledon and it was close.

But the fact is... Fed vs Youzhny = 12/0 in head2head ^^

Youzhny can claim a 6-0 6-1 victory over No 2 Nadal, no idea how that happened though.

Good stuff from Haas, especially the break point at 4-4 in the second was a stunning point. Better player today won.

Couldn't watch it because stream sites were down. Nice job Tommy!

They both have been broken only once this week (Haas has held 40 of 41 service games and Federer 36 of 37).

Queens final Nalby - Cilic just started.

And Nalby wins the "Tennis Retard of the Year" award 2012. Meanwhile Cilic wins Queens by beating his opponent in 0-1 sets.
