Serena mocks men as 'weenies'

Sun, 13 May 20:13:00 2012

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and others who have complained about the blue clay at the Madrid Open are "weenies", according to former women's number one Serena Williams.
Asked about criticism from Djokovic and Nadal over the slippery surface on the Manolo Santana show court, Williams told a news conference that women were simply tougher than their male counterparts.

"Women are way tougher than men. That's why we have the babies, you guys could never handle kids," Williams said after thumping top seed Victoria Azarenka 6-1 6-3 to win the Madrid title on Sunday.

"We ladies don't complain we just do our best. On the WTA (tour) we are real performers, we are not about going out there and being weenies."

Dictionary.com lists several definitions of "weenie" including "an insignificant, disliked person" or "a stupid and inept male".

Djokovic and Nadal have threatened to boycott the Madrid event next year unless the traditional red dirt is reinstated.

I see Serena is still rapping.Their best is not enough. They might not complain and act tough, but I can't see how much tough a player is when they double fault 3 times in a single game. And guess what, this player is supposed to be no.1 .

Doesn't warrant a new topic imo :P

Players are phony all the time, some are just more outspoken than others.

Lets all give her 3 boohoos:

Boohoo, boohoo, boohoo - the clay is red.

talking about the color, i haven't thought about it til now, but the blue clay may have a positive effect (psychological) on american players (for example), most of them are kinda allergic to the red color, and seeing now that lovely blue color their subconscious can make them think they're playing on their lovely hard courts.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Btw, did any of you guys see Azarenka's reason for pulling out of Rome? Disgraceful, in my opinion.

I have'nt heard. But I'm guessing she might have pulled out because she was on a Period?

Wozniacki, Azarenka, Williams. They're afraid that they might get really injured just prior to the FO...Bunch of weenies.

Though in Wozniacki's fairness she was leading by a landslide, her pulling out is the only one that appeared legitimate.

Azarenka pretty much only entered to protect her ranking. She won her first match too. I don't get why she either didn't play it or continue playing. It's pretty bitchy of her to do so.

I think she even said that "player's rights need to be more protected", which is retarded, because they are and their ranking is not their right. :?

Yeah I don't get this, she had no points to defend in Rome, did she think that the tournament wasn't worth playing? What a cheat.

She has already protected her earnings by moving to Monaco.
