Chris Chase "Federer a Phony" Nadal Says...

Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

Yep i read it yesterday, and all i can say is FINALLY!!, a real rivalry!! maybe a bit late though haha, they seemed to be in love during all these year and you know all marriages have issues

Seriously speaking i think everyone has their own opinion about the calendar i guess, Federer bases his success in his talent and Nadal in physical condition, so they can't agree about this, besides Rafa always wants to play the Davis Cup matches with his country which makes the calendar even worse, and on the other hand Roger doesn't give a shit about the Davis so he doesn't have that dilemma.

Apparently the 95% of players support Nadal on this one, but that's not important, i mean Fed can have a different opinion, not a big deal, he has that right.

Good for Rafa, i think he's the only one in this World who has the....... to say something against Federer "The Genteman"

Oh ya, a proper rivalry is more exciting, but I like their sickly-sweet friendship ;)
And the media has taken Nadal's bad English (and poor judgment) and blown it out of proportion as usual. Nadal already apologized.

If I was fed I would just laugh and say bro, not my problem if your falling apart.

Btw for all this talk of too long a schedule etc, wasn't it worse in the late 90's early 00's 5 set matches in masters finals and Davis cup spring to mind.

True, but players didn't have to play all GS and Masters series tournaments, this rule saying they have to play GS and a minimum of blabla, didn't exist back in those days ( correct me if i'm wrong), i think that, for example, Pete Sampras didn't use to play in Madrid, Montecarlo, Rome, Paris, those are a lot of tournaments, right?, at least i don't remember seeing Pete playing all those Masters on clay, he could rest and get ready for Wimbly....jogging my memory to recall this, so i could be wrong

Honestly, I think they play too much...
They're "on" from 20th December (preparing the Aussie) to what... End of November ? More if they play Masters Finals or Davis Cup final ?
So they have something like 2 weeks of 100% real holidays ?
Aren't they the athletes who are more "on" (comparing to any other sports), in a very demanding sport (physically AND mentally) ?... A bit insane if you ask me...

I really doubt 95% of players agree with Nadal, because outside of the top 20 or 30....everybody else on the tour NEEDS a ton of tournaments. They need those tournaments to make some money to try and break even. If they cut down on the number of tournaments it'd really hurt all of the guys who aren't at the very top.

Update: Rafa said today that he should have told him that in private and not in front the media, he still thinks what he said but regrets about criticizing Roger in public, and according to him this will never happen again, on the other hand Federer said that they get along with eachother nothing has changed between them, what has changed is that in the past Nadal just agreed with everything Federer thought and now Rafa is an adult and has his own opinion about these issues, and it's great (Fed said)

Damn these 2 will never fight :D
