Doesn't have as much of a wind problem though. Its probably more to do with location than anything, i hear its built on a landfill? And the water table is pretty close to the ground level. The wind is probably due to it being such a beast of a stadium it traps and whirls it.
Course when it was built as rob says sampras, agassi, even courier and chang were still playing and getting results. now US tennis isn't that healthy at the top. But we should probably remember this is a anomaly, the weather has caused monday finishes for sure but never so bad the courts have cracked with water seeping. and besides this could easily happen to wimby, fair enough the roof is in place but its only one court, and if you played all the matches on it the grass would be completely destroyed, it already is by the end of the tourny on the baseline, but the whole court would be a dust bowl.
