Wozniaki is worthy No. 1

Being the world's best does not mean you always will win and can win over all but now it's Serena who must show that she is the " best ".

Being No.1 means you are the most consistently successful performer over 12 months across all events. For that she is definitely deserving as she shows up at events and wins a lot of matches. It is a great achievement for someone so young

safina was scrutinized for being in wozniaki's position a slamless world number 1 she is not the best if she has not won the major tournaments the slams and YEC for me Serena willams is still da best she has the most slam this year if not for injury possibly three the number1 player must be a player who wins slam consistency over a 12 month period is supposed to o be the mark of all top players wat seperates the number one from the rest is his or her perfomances in the slam case in point the two guys on the atp nadal and fed between them the have all the slam whereas on the womens side 1 and 2 are slamless all they have have done is played more tennis than the slam tennis if wozniaki does not win the AO she aint world number1 if willams wins title numba 6 she is

you often hear a top player say it's about winning slams why cos's when your a slam winner no one doubt your credentials plus da ranking takes care of it's self any one can make semis and finals of tournaments if their consistent but not every one is a slam winner

Now there are just 10 years difference in Woz and Serena, so it makes Woz 40 opportunities to gain as much GS as Serena.

I'm sure now that Woz has achieved one of its goals - to become no.1 she also has time to concentrate more on the GS - the same way as Serena.

Woz has won as many tournaments this year and has been the most consistent player this year - making her the world's No. 1

I did not think you can compare Woz and Safina. Sisters W. and Kim also express great praise for Woz and they have no doubt enough to win more than one GS and that she has a great future.

But I also recognize that there may be a difference in the world's No. 1 and then the world's best tennis player. Who is the world's best, is often something that is debatable.

Haha! Priceless!
Djarv, now i remember there had the same kind of comments (from top players) when those ladies came to that #1 spot, than those we now hear about Woz... Time will tell...
Some should accept that we can have doubts about this kind of leader... A leader who has not win any significant (big) tourney, and who didn't do anything good in Grand Slams...
But damn! 3 or 4 thread about this fine b... champ! One was good!

who looks at women's tennis for the tennis? and there's hardly any decent looking one's either especially not from the higher ranked players. they all look big fat like serena or small fat like wozniacki. so no reason to watch this type of 'sport'. bottom line is they're overpaid, overweight sub standard performers that have found a way to make millions. a few exceptions like henin come to mind but those types who look at least like they have put in the hours and have trained and are fit and who display some skill and not just brainless ball bashing, are few and far between.

anyway, I dunno why but this song comes to mind when I think of these fat women

to stuff like "Your comment is commensurate with your intelligence so you have not changed and therefore I say again to you: your comment is not worth commenting."

so you managed to do a crash course in english during the past few months?
