it's over with federer. He will not win Wimbledon. He can better stop playing now for his own honor.

Retirement? Forget it!

He said many times he want to play until his children can watch him on the court. The Olympic Games 2012 is the earliest point for retirement.

so if you are number 2 in the world, you suck? if you lose in the QF of RG to a finalist you suck?

and if you are not "good" at tennis then you should retire?

he plays tennis because he loves it, and hes not going to retire because he is losing more than he has in the past. Yea he is not going to be dominant but he is still going to be tough

Did he not win the first Grand Slam of 2010?!?!!!! It is already a successful year on that score.

In fact the other guys should be making even more of an impression on Federer now when he is the one with nothing left to achieve, except deliver on his own personal goals.

I'm still looking no further than Nadal and Federer come Wimbledon.

I agree. Writing Federer off is too early. I think this is all party of the "master plan". He had got all the records....but not the "best comeback" one.

Look for him to drop to around 20 in the world in the next 2 years, just to come back and win a few more slams.

I don´t know what´s the bid deal..."best comeback"?, now is when Roger´s season starts... Wimbly and the US Open are always his best tournaments, the lost in France was not a surprise, well yes he should have reached the SF or the final but that´s all.

That being said we all have to know that some day he will quit....."aging takes its toll".

It "should" be players like Soderling, Djokovic, Murray, DelPotro et al that "should" be making Grand Slam semi's and finals more often.

Guys like this have youth and should have the hunger on their side, fact is some of the lack of results from these lot should be more worrying than some of the losses Federer is having.

I'm surprised Federer still has the motivation to work as hard as he does to be honest.

yeah Wimby is way too early for him.
I think he'll be back sometime in November. He's hoping to be fit for the Paris Masters.

...first time since 2001 that Federer goes into Wimbledon having won only one tour-level title in the first six months of the year.
