At the moment, Gulbis without a doubt. But it took Gulbis 4 years after his turned pro date to play his best tennis. De Bakker is still in his 4th year so we have to wait and see if De Bakker can continue on his good form this year.

Gulbis without a doubt; better forehand and backhand, a more efficient serve and he have a nice touch.

The question should be who the more talented of the 2 is. Id say Gulbis. But i think de Bakker will fulfill all of his potential while i find this doubtful with Gulbis.

Well, you maybe right, but this year...he is doing great. He is reached QF, SF a few times, he got a title too.

But the main thing is, he is playing better then ever. Take a look at his last matches. He is moving better, his BH is more solid, drop shots are on another level altogether. He is breaking less rackets too.

That alone is a HUGE progress from past 4 years....and he is 21 still.

I am starting to believe again....results AND the game is now there. Mentality is drastically improved too.

Got to give credit to de Bakker. He will be the more consistent one, for sure.....but does he have enough "bite" to win tournaments?

You don't have to ask that question about Gulbis, you do about the de Bakker. Thats the difference.

ehhhh maybe at molding Clay  not playing tennis. Although I failed to specify better at "what"

Clay so far has been the best surface for Gulbis, surprisingly.

BTW - de Bakker takes first set 6.3 ....is broken in second now.

What do you guys think of Federer VS Gulbis today?

hmmmm

I disagree.

If Federer will struggle with his first serve, he will be in a lot of trouble. They both employ similar tactics of going for a lot and early. Gulbis more so then Fed. Plus Gulbis himself is serving great, so it will be tough for Fed to break him 3 times a match, but not impossible.

I say a 3 setter for Fed or a straight set victory for Gulbis.

Gulbis will show Federer who's the real GOAT.

There will be a little rustiness probably, but Federer is going to pull through as usual. Looking forward to the match though.

Yeah, I am thinking the same. Just hoping for a bit of rustiness from Fed + great form of Gulbis may result in an upset. Nothing against Fed, but that would be great for tennis! More air time for Gulbis = me happy

BTW - de Bakker drops second set with a bread-stick and is broken in third. Against Troicki :? I was thinking he got this one.
