I thought to have a thread on the Rome Masters tourney.
Should prove be a decent indicator as to the form of the 'big guns' as we get nearer to RG, and as to who might provide a sterner test to Rafa.

Nadal wins the title, obviously.

But I can't wait to see how Fed comes out... he's had some pretty crappy tournaments lately (by his standards), so we'll see what happens.

haha and sucks to be the mutant, he dropped a ranking position and lost the #4 spot to a guy who hasn't even played this year :D

I don't see how anyone can beat Rafa as long as he plays halfway to his best and stays away from injury. Since he wisely took this week off, I see him not dropping a set the rest of the clay season

Rafa has not won a match against Top 10 yet this year, so i wanna see him in Rome before breaking out the champagne

true, i didn´t express myself properly, i meant Davidenko, Federer, Djokovic and Soderling.
In my opinion Roddick, Murray are just regular players on clay, even an injured Nadal could beat them. Don´t missunderstand me, they´re good baseliners, amazing improvement by A.Ro btw, but to beat Rafa on clay you need to hit winners, like Soderling did last year
btw i consider Monfils more dangerous than Tsonga on clay

I would say Ferrero and ferrer are in the top 10 when it comes to clay. Oh yeah and verdasco ranked no.9.
