Dr. Karlovic vs. Fed

Postby Coolhand Texas » Tue, 30 Jun 2009 03:07

This should be a close match, with Ivo serving the way he is, and the fact thst Ivo beat federer last year on the hard courts, so it could get tight.

Karlovic's serve has not been broken all tournament, so i dont know if fed will do it, but if he continues to get 30 aces or more in a match, then you are in trouble.

I think Fed in 4, if it goes 5 then definately Fed. Ivo has never won a 5 setter.

Also Fed said in an interview that he likes playing Ivo, how can you like playing someone who serves like that?

the last time they played on a fast surface, Ivo won. Just throwing it out there.

yeah, close of course though. He won two tiebreaks. I'm pretty sure that Ivo wins 95% of his sets in tiebreaks.

I say he will win in four sets, because Federer can return serves with no problem, what-so-ever!

I think Karlovic will win a set. Federer needs time to probably adjust to a big serving opponent.

Fed: 6-4, 7-5, 7-6.
And as Nick said Ivo won the last time, but that was a 2 sets match, today it´s different.

Karlovic is a terrible player. His style is only aimed at winning. Boring to watch. If more players play like this in the future, the net should be placed higher...

Sorry, but so is 100% of the rest of the ATP. They all want to win. Karlovic does the best with what he has, which is a lanky, cumbersome 6'10 frame and a huge serve. He plays the only way he knows how to play. I don't like him as a player but I find it amazing that he's made it so far with so little.

Federer should win in 3 or 4, I don't see Karlovic giving him much trouble at this Wimbledon, Roger is playing too well.

to be honest being as the serve and touch for volleys seems to be the last thing to go with age, ala sampras, he could be annoying us for a good few more years yet, hes only 30, say another 5?

I have big respect for Karlovic. I mean it's like he has a magnetic device inside of the balls that just hit's the lines when servinv with this crazy power.

Wierd how he can serve so big but isn't really able to put much pressure on his forehand and backhand. Specially the backhand.

And I am sure it ain't easy to be as big as he is and play.

I just respect him cause he is so different from the rest.

Hands down THE MOST RETARDED quote of the year.

"....His style is only aimed at winning." -as opposed to losing? You really need to rethink your view of tennis. Maybe we should stop counting the score, why bother?

I have a LOT of respect for Karlovic. Just read his bio, you will love the guy too.

BTW, there are plenty of tall man out there, some sadly American  that can't match his serving or winning record.

I generally like big servers! :P

I wouldn´t like to find Karlovic in a narrow alley in the middle of the night, don´t know why but this guy scares me.
