The Mutant is the luckiest player of 09'

Postby coke4 » Fri, 17 Apr 2009 23:09

am i the only one who thinks Murray has gotten extremely lucky so far this year, here are the reasons why i think this

1)Doha: Federer was a set up and was at 0-40 on Murray serve at like 2-2 in 2nd but then started to go mad and play shit, throwing away the match
He then got roddick in the final, no offense to roddick but he isnt at the top level

2)Rotterdam: was seeded to play gasquet in QF, who lost, then ferrer or Simon in semi's who both lost
Played an injured nadal in final who wasnt as lucky with the draw having to play tsonga and monfils.

3)Indian Wells: was seeded to play cillic in R16, who lost, Tsonga and Simon who were possible QF oppenents both lost
He cheated(IMO) against Ljubicic and all his oppenents played crap

4)Miami: was likely to play fish in 3rd round but fish lost and he played Massu, was due to play Nalbandian in R16 who lost and instead played a viktor troicki who played shit.
Played an injured Verdasco in the quarters and then played an extremely tired del potro from his VERY long match the night before with nadal
In the final he played a Djokovic who was far from impressive(his usual unconsisitent self).

5)Monte Carlo: Fogini choked after getting 5-0 up v. Murray
Played a Davydenko who is playing injury free for the 1st time since like January, and who had just had a very long match that morning.

I am sorry if i offended any of you Murray fans but this is my opionon and i need to get it off my chest

I think everyone is adapting, and I think that Murray is the quicker learner.

The change of the world #1 variable. Murray is capitalizing on it very well, so is Nadal, as always. Hehe.

Hey coke

You have built a good case against his luck. As a neutral, I would still give Murray more credit than just luck, as he still had to win the matches...

Some perhaps contrary views to your points:-

(1) How many players can come back from 0 - 40 against Federer? Murray's mental strength edged Roger's this time...

(2) I agree. Nadal had a much tougher run.

(3) Ljubicic indeed was robbed... But that's not to say Murray wouldn't have won either way?

(4) He still had to beat Djokovic...

(5) Again, must give credit for coming back from 5 - 0 down.

PS. I didn't watch any of these matches, but just commenting from his results and news reports.

Ljubicic probably still would have lost(although this cheating did result in murray breaking), i was really just putting that in to show wat an a*s murray is

Beating a djokovic as he played in miami was not hard, any top 30 player could have done it

Federer seemed to just give up

some credit deserved for coming bak from 0-5, but against a top 20/30 player it would have been 6-0/1
