And Djarvik, I don't think they should have been compared. They were completely different in the way they were performed. It's like comparing apples and oranges. You can personally like one more, it's just not sensible to say one is better than the other. :P

And Tombs, they may have provided the special effects but we gave them a bus for the closing ceremony. :P

Both are apples. Different sorts of Apples. Its not only sensible to compare, it is natural. There were countless comparisons throughout the broadcast and after, even we here, at Tennis Gaming forum - "compare".

I was not implying that London was utter garbage, it was good for sure, but it was gimmicky, had this amateurish flavor to it. Queen jumping off the helicopter  soooo witty! Girl and a guy kissing after finding each other? WTF? Is this a high-school musical? And Paul choking...

And its not the special effects and the cost, its the production I didn't like. If British wanted to please themselves - they have done it, the rest of the world - not so much.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

Paul was terrible. He's simply too old to pull off stuff like this. And Arctic Monkeys were a miscast, they were playing an old hit and a Come Together cover and they're not exactly world famous. Queen looked bored as ****. Old guy doing something what looked like a Nazi salute when the German team came in. Also the first part about the industrial revolution and the NHS was too confusing for foreigners. I liked the comedy parts though.

Overall not a great ceremony.

I ve got the same thing for world tour finals as well.. Shanghai was way better than London world tour finals. Watching it in a stadium might be different but watching on tv I don't honestly like the dull enviornment of London WT finals stadium

Istanbul was an odd choice imo but worked well.

Murray just won, Nole-A-Rod next.

I will agree that Paul was crap. He should never have been there. :?

As for the gimmicky bits, well that is to be expected. And the trippy bits. After all, it was produced/directed by Danny Boyle, who directed 28 Days Later and Trainspotting. :P

The Girl and Guy bit did make me cringe though.

Well, it was an awfully British production. Highly focused on Britain and British things. Though as I mentioned it seemed to focus mostly on modern British culture when I would rather it was focused on older culture.

I guess I should expect foreign people not to... get it, understand it or perhaps even like it. I will admit some bits were poor, but I felt the bits that were good were done very, very well. :P

Anyway, Murray and Djoko both played good matches today. Robson into a tiebreak vs Sharapova now though.

Was really boring though, like Isner-Mahut. 75% serve points.
