Federer seems to be firing at the minute. Backhand down the line is still a bit dodgy, but he isn't hitting it anymore. Serving for it at 6-5.

EDIT: Set Federer. Best set I've seen him play in a while. He seems up for winning this match.

Now 2nd set Nadal. Federer shouldn't have lost that serve game.

Prolly their best match since AO SF 2012.

Complete momentum shift after Fed lost that serve/set. He really looked like the winner for 15 minutes.

Was a good match for 2 sets.

Good match. Really enjoyed that. A little bit of a lull at the start of the 3rd, but it finished pretty fantastically as well.

Mad respect to Rafa.

He's the only guy where it doesn't upset me if he beats Federer.

He now leads their head-to-head 21-10

Impossible for Roger to ever break even.

Food for thought

If he's able to win in NY and Nole doesn't reach semis he'll get back the number 1

Good for him that he can bank every point he has earned and will earn after Wimbledon, while Nole and Murray still have tons of points to defend. And he is still in the race to equal Nole's record of 5 Masters wins in one season.

It was a good battle between the two that I ve not seen in a long time.. Rafa is unstoppable this year.. this year will be his best chance to win world tour finals.. They started the match a bit slow with both making errors but eventually it got better. Federer should have won this one in straight sets when he had a great chance in second set.. He seemed a bit conservative lacking confidence at certain moments.. Anyways I think this match will still boost his confidence for us open

That forehand winner that rafa hit on match point was out but federer didn't challenge it.. Federer will be dropping to 7th in rankings.. Imagine What will it look like if he is not able to qualify for world tour final lol :D

Don't worry, Tsonga will countersuck.

7th place is the lowest ranking for Roger since Oct 2002, wow.

5th Masters title this year, equalling Nole's 2011 record and back at No 2
