I see what you're trying to say but it just doesn't always work that way.
The old adage of "styles make fights" is quite relevant to your boxing reference.
For instance, Ken Norton, in many observers opinions(and I mean MANY opinions) won all three of his fights with Ali (Ali was given the benefit of very controversial razor thin split decisions in two of the bouts). So are we then to deduce from that that Norton was a greater fighter than Ali. The answer is absolutely NO. Norton just happened to have the type of style that gave Ali fits at the best of times. In a tennis sense, Nadal does the same to Fed.
