His one-hander, however, is beautiful. Love the way he just loads up and whips it.

And your boy is in serious need of a haircut too. Good grief.

hahahahah I think the hair and shave is superstition. He stopped cutting it or shaving since he started to win this year......I wonder how he will look in a few month  It was cool with a little afro and all, but it's starting to get long and fall down.

Otlichno - I agree with you. His movement on clay is superb for a power-player. He slides into shots beautifully and defends really well with slices.

Definitely sarcastic about the serve. One of the top 10 ugliest ever if you ask me  ....but sometimes these ugly serves work really well.

Yeah, he has got a very nice 1 hander....very good looking....altho I think he miss-times it a lot, taking it a bit late, causing him to fall backwards and generate these loopy shots that Gul puts away.

volandri's serve is the biggest mystery of italian's tennis history

he never learned to serve well...but at the beginning of his career he served even worst...now he got an accettable serve motion and he has a good first serve average.on clay he is competitive,on hard court absolutely not.

imo his bh is wonderfull but its not as effective as it was before...i mean he had many phisycal problem in the last 2 year and he didn't reach the form yet.he lost confidence and he doesn't hit the ball as well as he did before...
he has been top 40-50 for 3-4 consecutive years with 25high ranked...if he had also a serve he would have been a top 15 surely...on clay he was,i hope he will be again,a very good player...

Brilliant match, Gulbis is one of my favourites but I feel sorry for his opponent. He played some awesome tennis especially in the end facing those match points. That drop volley to save the match point at 6-3 was  He should have won that last point too, but yet again it just goes to show you how much Gulbis's movement has and continue to improve.

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
