About 3 service & volley in that Wimbledon final?... :?
Apart the fact that this final was a rape of Tennis on grass, congrats to Djoko who is an insane invincible beast since the Davis Cup title!
I now hope that Roger can become N°2, then pray for Rafa to be in Djoko's part of a draw... And maybe Roger can become N°1 again after beating Djoko in a Grand Slam final! (Since HE knows how to beat the Djoker  )!!
Woohoo! :c

Let me ask you something,

Has Rafa ever lost a match in a Slam or any other type of match when fatigue or "injuries" did not come into play? Always seems that way, no?
To be fair, of the four losses above, I'd think the Delpo one is probably legit.. he had trouble serving... It wouldn't have changed the result though.

Anyway, to me these victories by Djokovic are sweet!
Giving Nadal a taste of his own medicine.

And the scary thing is that there's no match-up issue here. Novak is just currently better.
With Fed it was/is a HUGE matchup issue since Nadal exploits Fed's single handed BH with excessive topspin. Nadal fans never concede this.
However, Nadal vs Joker is not a match-up issue. Joker beats Nadal at his own game.
If it really was a match-up issue, Nadal wouldn't have beaten Joker 16 times before. This is an improved Djokovic who matches Nadal in every aspect. It's not like Nadal's BH became weak all of a sudden, Nadal is still very much in his prime but is getting simply outclassed by the Joker.

And that is sweet. :D

I might add that Nadal actually lost to Ferrer at the us open in 2007

And I'll also add :
After 3 hours 28 minutes, Nadal hobbled out of the United States Open under the cover of a half-moon.

“Tomorrow, I don’t want to run more,” Ferrer said in his on-court interview. “Now I am very tired. To beat Rafa, I have to run a lot. I’m sorry for that, for my friend, for my partner, Rafa. Thanks a lot for the people to support me.”

Nadal left the court quickly after the match, dispirited that his aching knee and sore hand had failed him. Ferrer, meanwhile, advanced to the quarterfinals to play Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina.

I'm relatively new to the tennis world, and I always thought Rafa was incredibly respected, but it seems he gets a lot of criticism from some circles?

I'm seeing it more and more.

As a massive Federer fan, I dislike Nadal, but I respect him because he is undoubtedly quality.

The fact that whenever he loses is blamed on injury shouldn't be a knock, saying he can't take defeat, but surely it'd be a knock on his durability?

His high impact style isn't conducive to a long career, something I said as a retort to Nadal fans after Wimbledon 08 final.

I'd like to think that Nadal can be beaten injured or not, but he like everyone is weakest when hurt. The fact he gets hurt so often is enough of a knock on his greatness in my opinion.

Injury is never an excuse, it's a weakness.
Blood in my mouth beats blood on the ground.

Scissors - Paper - Stone

Federer - Djokovic - Nadal

If the scissors are sharp they cut through everything - even stone. Unfortunately the scissors are getting old, but they still trouble paper the most. ;)

It is good to see Djokovic getting on the same physical and mental level of Nadal this season - now their matches are decided by their ball striking talent. Nadal's biggest problem is that he cannot trouble Djokovic with his backhand as Djokovic can do with his backhand. Thus he tries to run around his backhand most of the time, but this leaves the court open to Djokovic and he can go down the line with his forehand. Even if it is not a winner he will get a weak reply from Nadal.

We have had enough Nadal vs. Djokovic finals this season (it is becoming boring, because their matches don't differ from surface to surface), so I hope to see Federer against Djokovic finals in the US Open series. I believe Federer can beat Nadal at Cincinatti and US Open if he plays his best tennis, so I rather have a Federer-Nadal semi final.

I dont think it is becoming boring to watch nadal vs djokovic. I dont think its boring to watch nadal vs fed or djoko vs fed. I love it when these 3 guys play each other, because of the tennis they can produce.

I like you rock, paper, scissors analogy. pretty cool.

Do we have any Serbian? speakers here on the forum?
I ask because I'm not sure the translation below is correct.
This was during the Djoker's arrival in Belgrade

Some journalists have indicated that it reads,

"Are you watching this from Madrid, Rafa, and keep practicing that backhand of yours"

in Madrid? he's from Mallorca, and he was probably fishing

btw first time i see a sign like that in tennis, you know in football when your team gets title you're not only happy for your team but also because your hated rival (most of the times) loses, first time in tennis... thank God i never saw a sign like that every time Nadal got a title against Roger reminding him to improve his backhand, Federer (most of the finals were against him) is much respected in Spain, i would be ashamed.

that being said i understand Nadal haters are enjoying this moment, he doesn't use to miss the opportunity to get another mayor, 14 finals-11 titles....so enjoy your moment of glory guys

Ok so I reckon I've found the correct translation to that banner.

So apparently what it is is that it's some kind of joke related to a joke song made by Bosnian fans later getting sung by Serbian sports fans..

In rough translation it means something like: "Let Rafa see you, getting drunk in the middle of Madrid (*with*) 7 backhands" :?

Hard to explain, not too meaningful even in Serbian, I would guess.
