Anti-tennis Wozniacki beaten

Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

I've said it before but I'll say it again...her forehand is the worst I've seen on a pro!!

I cannot BELIEVE the technique that the other women actually let her get away with...I have literally played young pre-teen kids with a better looking forehand than hers  She gets absolutely no power on it and she completely shanks it a LOT.

And Anti-Tennis Wozniacki lost again!
At first round of Toronto, against the Italian girl Roberta Vinci, she lost 6-4, 7-5....
You know what, I miss the Williams, Clijsters, Henin, Hingis, Davenport, Mauresmo, Graf, Sanchez... And even Seles!
Women tennis, since 5 years (more or less) is a nightmare to watch/to follow... Who can tell (by memory) the #1 during those last 5 years?... There has been more or less 10 different names...

What the hell is going on in Canada?? It seems like so many seeds are dropping. Is it the snow everywhere or perhaps the maple syrup particles in the air are messing with everybody's respiratory systems?

Serena back on tour is scaring the rest of the tour, she looks set on dominating this hardcourt season. Plus Clijsters is injured again, an awful year for her since Melbourne.

Wozniaki lost again to McHale 4&5. Dreadful match neither could hit a winner to save their lives and McHale just managed to bunt a few more balls back than Caroline.

Consistency is her only "weapon" and at the minute it's disappeared.

Just terrible.
As you say Fedfan, she just doesn't seem to have much in the way in terms of an offensive weapon at all. Mostly it's just determination and defence. And now even that isn't working.
She's still quite young but as of now I'd say she's definately in the reckoning as one of the worst No1's in WTA history.

Bashing time!! (again) :P

I'm watching Woz loosing to Penetta, she sometimes is ridiculous! I start to think that even Safina was a better #1!
I mean she has the physic (she is easily able to reach any balls), she sometimes has the tactic, but she has "no touch" at all! She doesn't know what to do against drop shots, and when you add this "no touch" to the wrong tactic, she looks like an amateur!... Or a junior!...

(Well, she hasn't lost yet, but it's now 6-3, 0-6, 2-4 and so far, she is sometimes ridiculous...)

Edit :
Well Woz had her luck, thx to a final tie-break, but Penetta really outplayed her...
Did I mention lack of tactics and lack of "touch" for Woz?... Well you can add the fact that she doesn't have a lot of weapons with her forehand. She can only do effective cross court shots, and "moon-balls" shots (^^). She can't go down the line with it... When you think she's about to do a "Djoko", she does a complete non-effective/non-aggressive shot... Lame/boring...

Penetta won 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 (2) (she leaded 4-1 in the last set...)

Speaking of womens tennis, just read Safina has retired aged 25, due to back injuries... http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/07102011/ ... is-25.html

Wozniaki hasn't got a forehand and more and more people are beginning to take advantage, even on short balls she cannot blast the ball away easily.

Li Na and Kvitova have lost their form, Clijsters and Sharapova injured and Serena on hiatus, pretty poor state of affairs.

Hoping Ivanovic is really going to step back up next year but I won't hold my breath.

Hoping too. Ana is my favorite player, and she shows that she can play very well against top 5 player like Zvonareva in Peking.
She really needs to won one International Series like Linz (or Luxembourg) and of course, Bali. ( she gets à WC even if she doesn't really deserve it..)
