hey chederer fed comes into this final having dropped just ONE SET that is RAFA-LIKE form on clay i truly believe fed will do it YES THE STREAK IS DEAD give it up for the KING OF SLAMS

in 2006 he had only dropped 1 set...and lost to Nadal in final...2007 he had lost just one set...lost to nadal in the final---2008 dropped 3 sets and lost to nadal in the final 1-6 3-6 0-6; history may repeat itself from years 2006 and 2007; i just dont know

At least this time he has already won the French, before he wasn't just playing Rafa, he was trying to beat him to compete the set.

The odds are heavily in Rafa's favour but who knows, sometimes these things happen when you least expect them.

I really don't think I will be able to watch the match with Nadal just plugging away at Fed's backhand every point.

Yes plus the fact Djokovic lost, meaning the number 1 pressure is off Nadal now and also the pressure that he isnt going to face Djokovic in the final is also off... I think nadal will blow federer away in the final, although I'd love to see Roger beat Rafa in the final.

if rafa can blow a 5-1 lead against murray anything is possible plus fed is confident and enjoying the role of the spolierer

Notice Djoko has pulled out of queens with a "knee injury". Think it is kind of taking away from fed's win, although could be genuine. What would be worst is a sign of Djokovic's previous nature of "i can't win, so i'm injured/tired". I am probably being very hard but its kind of funny how after only the 2nd time he was under real pressure this year, he cracked, regardless of this amazing run. A leopard doesn't change it's spots.

BTW i actually quite like djokovic  but not his past attitude of being a whiny sore loser, and hope it doesn;t come back

Huh? How is the number 1 pressure off Nadal now? If Djokovic had won it would have been Djokovic at #1 and there would have been no pressure. As it is now, Nadal is still #1 unless he loses to Fed...

I was going to say the same thing that Sherlock said.

People always say that it's the Slams that matter, that the ranking isn't that important to the players.... or the players say they aren't even thinking about it when one match can decide who's number one. But it does seem that when the ranking is on the line, someone caves under the pressure.

I wonder what's going to happen to Djokovic now. Everyone's made such a big deal about how well he's been playing, but really, he's just been on a hot streak for about six months - over the past 3 years though, he's hasn't shown that he's really willing to do the work it takes to stay at the top. Yeah, he's been top 3 for quite a while, but I think that's despite his work ethic, not because of it.

Who knows.... I talked to a guy from Serbia right after Djokovic won his first Aussie Open. The guy claimed that he knew Djokovic when they were younger, and that he was the type who would be content to coast through his career. They guy could have been full of crap, but there's always seemed to be some truth to what he said. I guess time will tell.

Fantastic semi yesterday, with a Fed at his very best; with this game, he do have a chance sunday against Rafa. C'mon!

Rafa seems to think otherwise by the looks of it. He has played a ton of tennis this year just to keep the #1 ranking. He went and played Barcelona I believe to keep his #1 ranking.

B.ullshit... You don't know what you say... Rafa is loved a lot in France, maybe Roger is much appreciated (by older people), but please stop believing we hate your precious Rafa here in France... He must be around in top 3 of most liked tennis athletes, after people like Mauresmo and a Gasquet or something...

If people "support" more Roger it's more because they are "bored" and want a new winner in this RG head up... They want to see the looser winning, end of story...

And i also would like to say that RG crowd is not French crowd...

Since it's not the first time i see you writing things like this, please i ask you to stop it, it's not correct... Thx.

what do you take this an attack against France? i'm talking about RG crowd, check again my text to see if i typed either "France" or "french", did i? no i did not, so calm down.
No all the crowds are the same, at Wimbledon the crowd has more respect for Roger, Rafa or whoever and that's a fact.
That said i respect you and i won't comment again anything about the lovely RG crowd. End of story.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Okay Xavi, fair enough...
I apologize for getting on nerves too quickly...
I don't know why, but i was assuming that you were refering to French people.
I was somehow fearing that you (= people in general) were thinking RG crowd = French crowd...
(And i realise that talking about how crowd behave, can't lead to great thoughts... Sorry again all! )

Sorry again, that morning coffee woke me up too quick!

EDIT : And also sorry for my last line, Xavi... I guess it's our lasts "talks" about cycling and all that made me think you had something against frenchies...

I now go look for a new brain... Mine seems to be off... Sorry guys..
