Lendl's robotic reaction to Murray winning was hilarious.

Didn't even stand up, just smiled and clapped.

I remember that, was the highlight of the interview for me! Most interesting thing he's said in years. Dreaming about the worm (as he should be known from now on) and Dennis Kudla, wtf? Rare spot of transparency in an otherwise mundane and monotone "celebration" interview from Murray.

The shots of the crowds all over GB were amazing though, gave me goosebumps.

It was great, my local pub is called the Tennis Court so we all watched the match there, Not taking away from Murray but Djokovic lost it, he didn't serve well, take chances, move particularly well, etc etc. Made 17 unforced in set 1, normally thats a match's worth. But murray stayed solid under the massive pressure and came through

Congrats to the Mutant and all his fans. Well deserved win. Played a great match against the Djoker and did all the right things. The "gets on drop shots were unbelievable, these (with exception of one) were quality drops and he was tired...so running them down felt "magical" really.

OK, that is surely his last Slam, EVA! :D :c

Jerzy perhaps? ...I know Gulbis is playing well, but he is not playing well on grass, too dependent on his serve, not enough time to execute the FH. He will probably get a scalp, hopefully two. Raonic with all his big game and serve is not great on grass either. But that is all very unlikely.

From the big 4, I think Djokovic has the best game right now. It would take a very good Draw for Federer to win, and even then, he would have to go through 2 of the big 4 to win it. Rafa will get knocked out early by a big hitter. Lately, quite a few guys almost did it, grass will provide a good platform for one of the big hitters to get over the hump me thinks. Rosol is not Soderling. Murray may get to the finals, but he just cannot win a good Rafa or Djoker, he would love Fed in finals at this point.

Ferrer has zero chances to me, Haas as well. Ferrer just can't win any of the big 4 - so no title for him. Haas is too old, won't last mentally or physically, although he can have a nice run with decent draw. Waw can't play on grass, so he is out. Berdman will get Gulbis in 2-3rd round....Tsonga doesn't like winning big titles, Gasquet proved many times he ain't no winner. Delpo seems to break down before getting SF nowadays...

BTW - that was rather good prediction. Jerzy - check, Gulbis taking a french scalp - check, Raonic out - check, Djoker and Murray in Final - check, Rafa out early - check, Fed out early - check, Ferrer not winning - check, Haas out - check, Waw out - check, Gasquet out - check, Delpo not making - check.

Well, mostly "check" :D

It's funny, but I saw some highlights of the Nadal match and it's shocking how much quicker the grass is early on. All the courts I play on are the same whether heavily worn or fresh it's really something.

You live in England, correct? You're in a unique position to gauge the level of affection English people have for Murray. A few years ago they thought he was shit/scottish. Turns out he was indeed Scottish, and not so shit.
But has the overall mentality changed in England? If so, is it just a bandwagon thing or have the English really embraced a Scot?

Would love to hear the inside take.

I think a lot more people now respect the fact that he's a top player, and get behind him because he's British, even if they don't particularly like him. He gained a lot of fans after the loss last year and the Olympics. It's education as well, the comment he made about not supporting England was blown way out of proportion and loads of idiots latched onto it and some still do. However at the end of the day no matter how much PR he has, it's tough to say but he's hard to like personally. It might be just because he's shy and private but he always comes across as aloof and miserable, and I think a lot of people thought he was big headed and thought he was better than he actually was.

Basically, a lot more people respect him now and we're happy that someone British finally won and are happy for him, but if say henman had won in 2001, the WHOLE country would have been going bananas, just because he was more loved and was like a constant underdog, which people here love.
